  1. I bought a lvl 4 18" acouple weeks ago and just got done ordering the second one :) Im building the box right now and hopefully will take some pics. I should have everything ready by the time the second sub arrives. Ill have pics and videos and let you know how they sound..

  2. Cool....just like I pictured it, a big ass ugly rectangle just sitting in my trunk, lol. I've been thinking of doing some kind of fiberglass top just to give it alittle more style. But that's gonna take away from my box space. I guess Ill have to build it and see what it looks like. If you look at the pic I put up, This new box will come up to the top of the back headrests

  3. 2 18" Dc sound LvL 4's going in the box...and 2 Hifonics Bxi1606D's powering them. Everything else I was pretty cool on. Just the carstereo port calculator wasnt making sense to me when I put all my dimensions in it. Im Just going build the port you suggested. Box will be 41 x 24 x 27 Max dimensions and port 5.5"h x 23.75"w x 20"d, Subs will be facing up and Port will be facing back. Most likely Ill be putting alot of bracing, 45's in all corners, and possibly fiberglassing the inside of the box ( That can get pricy so we will see).

  4. hmm. Didnt think about the sub lvl control on the headunit. I just wired it up so I can use that, I havnt in the past. But Im trying to see if this company will exchange the amp. If not I might just say F it and take the remote out.

I guess that answers my Bass knob question....Thanks dmanson.

Other than that will the changes in the Bass Eq and the Sub Sonic filter cause the subs to play Differently in anyway?

  5. well..im gonna make a couple of assumptions here:

    1. those are internal dimensions that you gave

    2. each sub displaces .23cft (i didnt see it on their site so i went off what the displacement was for the FI BL)

    with that said...

    make your port 7"h x 22"wide x 20"d (that gives you 154sq" of port area...or about 12sq"/cft)

your box will be 12.8 cubes net (6.4/sub)

    tuning will be 32.73hz

Measurements I gave were External. and when I put everything into the port lenght calcualor on carstereo.com it was saying I needed minimum of 230 inches of port area...... I dunno, that stuff confusses me

  6. Im having alittle trouble coming up with the port dimensions for this box. Dimensions I have for the box are 41 x 24 x 27 which came out to about 15 Cu Ft. I have no clue how to do the port measurements to get 32Hz (If that would be best) Again Im putting 2 - 18" Dc sound LVL 4's in this box. I would love if someone could help me out.

  7. These amps are 2006 (top) and 2007 (bottom).

2007 also have the mounting feet as part of the end panel and not seperately installed.

The differances are a new and faster chip set on the driver board, new torroids (differant winding count), improved efficiency, plus they have the future capability of being linkable.

Performance to your ears is similar but electronicically and accoustically better.

Actually, at CES 2008 we are celebrating our Hifonics 25th Anniversary and will release a new look for Brutus and Zeus.

They will be silver (25th = silver anniversary) with black chrome end panels.

They will be identical the 2007 version with new cosmetics.

Sorry for the bass remote change on the 2006 to 2007 but it was an upgrade.

So, No way possible to hook both remote wires to one knob huh? How bout I send you my 06 and we switch it out for an 07? haha
