  1. Does anyone know any good websites to order a replacement LCD screen for a laptop? I looked on newegg and dont see any laptop screens. Thanks
  2. i have an Acer Aspire AS7740-5142 laptop with windows 7 that i purchased last winter and it has been fine all this time. I shut it off this morning and it was running fine and no problems at all. I went to go turn it on later that afternoon and it starts up and loads everything like normal but once i try connecting to the internet then it freezes right away. I ran an antivirus software and it said it found and fixed 33 tracking cookies and nothing else. I restarted the computer after that and it does the same thing. I cant run malwarebytes since its not installed on my laptop and i cant even get on the internet to download it. When i start up in safemode with networking it still wont let me connect to the internet. What could the problem be? Any help/info would be appreciated. Thank you Mike
  3. im still trying to delete the virus and when i hit ctrl and alt and delete it says the task manager was disabled by the administrator. is there a way i can fix that? thanks
  4. i actually have malwarebytes installed but lately when i click it it says missing, then when i try to install it again it wont do anything. I also have tried system restore but for the longest time now it says cannot restore to earlier date. What would cause that? thanks mike
  5. I have a dell laptop that was working fine then after my norton antivirus software expired my laptop starting running like shit. The other night i left it on and when i came back later there was fake windows popups saying that my comp is infected and i need to pay 150$ for this software that they recommend. I tried deleting it off my computer but it keeps coming back. The next day when i put my computer on there was this message saying i have the "worm.win32.netsky" virus, which i googled and its also fake. I read everything about how they tell you to delete it by clicking CTRL ALT and Delete then manually uninstall files with netsky in it. So when i click CTRL ALT and Delete it says the task manager was disabled by the administrator. What do i do now?! I know i post about computers alot on here but everyone on this site has been very helpful in the past. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  11. I've been having problems with my dell laptop screen, the left side is really dark and the right side is bright(the way it should be). Now it got worse and after i turn on the laptop, right after the dell screen comes up it goes completely black, and the laptop itself is still running. Once in a while i can get the screen back up after pressing all different buttons but then after about 5minutes it goes completely black again. Do i just need a new screen or could it be another problem besides that? Any help/opinions would be great. Thanks
  12. also if i call dell would they send me all the disks i need to reformat?
  13. Ok so i was able to get on safemode, then system restore and after i did that i was able to log on normally again and my comp was working fine but i had all these pop-ups from internet explorer saying i should download cleanup tools such as cleanuptool, etc. I kept closing them out by the red X in the corner. Then i shut my comp off to go out then later last night when i turned it on it went right back to the blue screen, so i tried f8 then system restore but now theres no more dates to restore it to. Am i screwed now? thanks for all the help and info guys.

But when i clicked f8 it also came up with a whole list of ways to restart, is there any other things i could click? I just dont want to click different things and screw everything up. thanks again for all the help

  20. but it says "windows will now install the most up-to-date antispyware for you" and it doesnt pop up from a regular pop-up. it pops up in the right hand corner by the clock where notifacations pop up like a normal antivirus software
  21. even if it shows up like a red X (kind of like nortan antivirus) and shows the message every few minutes?
  22. its actually something that says its from windows XP (the message pops up from the right side of the toolbar by the clock) i just want to make sure it would be legit to install it
  23. I was just browsing through websites and all of a sudden my computer shut down on its own then restarted itself. When my computer finally loaded again this thing pops up and says " Windows has detected spyware infection!, it is recommended to use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss. Windows will now download and install the most up to date antispyware for you. Click here to protect your computer from spyware." Is this safe to download? Is there anything else i should be worried about? Should i stop using and messengers, or logging into any websites until i have this taken care of? Any help asap would be appreciated. Thanks mike
