  1. Anyone saying it does rated power.... Have any of you clamped any of the audiopipe amps??????? Shut if and delete your post if you have not clamped to find the real power. it does maybe 200 watts less than rated IIRC.

You should do the same thing then. Post up results of keep your mouth shut, especially if you're not 100% certain on what you're talking about.

My amp got EXTREMELY hot running it at .5 ohms on just 1 battery. Now I have 3 group 31 batteries and it stays nice and cold. I couldn't tell you what it's pushing out for power but I enjoy it so far. I have the 1500 btw :drinks:

  2. Makes perfect sense. What would qualify as "shot"? I'll do some testing with the DMM today.. Just don't know what to look for as far as the battery being dead. The car starts fine. The majority of songs at full tilt on the highway don't bring the voltage below 13.8-13.9 with the exception of Decaf songs and a few random songs. At idle and full tilt on the loudest songs the voltage will see 12.0-12.1 on certain notes but will always jump back up to mid 14's as soon as I hit mute or pause

Here's a few videos from today of the voltage at my normal listening volume. Please excuse the garbage iPhone mic

  3. Okay so the dimming will not stop. I can live with it as long as I know the rest of the audio world is dealing with the same issue. I can get HID's at cost so I may go that route.

I'm sort of against buying a HO alt because I'm one of those people who can't keep a car for more then 4-5 months so the chances of me buying another 98-02 accord and being able to transfer a $600 alt is VERY slim and I have zero room for a second alt.

The seller of the batts said the oldest stamp he's seen on any of this batteries he's sold in the past year is 2008 which I'm fine with. 99% sure I'll be buying two of them tonight

  4. so u can get 2 batterys for 240?

    Yes $240 for the pair.

Deka's by far if they aren't super old. I have a Deka Intimidator G34 under the hood of my Focus that's been there for 2 years or so and it's going strong. Iirc the Deka's outperformed even the Kinetik 2400 in a battery test on ROE a while back. They are strong for sure and worth the buy at $240 for a pair of them.

Also just adding batteries without a proper charging system isn't going to cure your headlights diming. I have a total of 4 batts in my car along with a 260 amp alt and multiple runs of 0 gauge and I still get dim at high volumes.

Is there any way to tell if they are really old just by pictures? Also how do you connect a regular automotive post to the battery? I've been trying to find out but came up with nothing.

That last part about the dimming is a complete bummer. Is there anyway to fix that at all?

  5. So my two options are a new Kinetik hc2000 for $235 shipped or 2 used Deka 9A31 batteries for $240 shipped. Deka's rest at 12.5V. I wasn't going to upgrade my electrical anytime soon but the headlight dimming is driving me absolutely insane

EDIT: Okay so I purchased the 2 Deka's. Now the new question is... Do I run one up front and one in the back or do I leave the stock Honda battery up front and run the 2 Deka's in the back???

  6. You just surpassed me in the nicest bike category! Very happy to see the CK stuff on there but those outboard BB's are wayyyyy too much money IMO. I do have some Ti frame/fork sets sitting in my shed from the mid-80's I should take some pictures of

    Speed M20 XXL frame

    Sinz Pro Lite Plus forks

    Thomson stem

    Fly JB bars

    Shimano DXR cranks 180mm

    Hawk Racing BB

    JW 4-bolt 40T

Profile Mini hubset with Ti driver 14T

    Alienation Deviant & Runaway

    Tioga Powerblocks 1.95/1.75

    Selle Italia SLR

    Thomson post & Profile clamp

Shimano DXR lever and XTR brakes

Just installed the new forks and the bike now weighs under 20lbs. 19.7 to be exact. I shaved off 10 ounces in the forks alone. They are the new Sinz Pro Lite Plus which is the same fork and race as the pro lite but with a chromoly steerer tube and a 195lb weight limit
