  1. Trying to calculate how much added weight I have inside the trunk of my car so I can buy custom springs to lift my car back up.

    rear-tire-trunk-sag.jpg

The feels when all of your added wires alone weight over 100 lbs (200 feet of 0 Gauge OFC wire).

    dc-audio-subs-toward-rear-1.jpg

Here's a picture of only 100 feet of the 200 feet of wires I have on a scale:
    100-feet-0gauge-ofc-wire-45lbs.jpg
    100-feet-0gauge-ofc-wire-45lbs-me.jpg

I'm going to buy those GP No Sag springs later this month but can't decide if I should just get 1,000lbs rated coils to leave room for future upgrades and additional batteries or just buy the springs based on how much weight I currently have in my car.

So far my estimated calculation of weight added inside of my car:
    DC5K Amp: 32 lbs
    XP3000 (rear batt): 73 lbs
Yellow Top (rear batt): 50 lbs
    Box: 70lbs (guessing)
    2x 12"XLM2's: 120 lbs
Second Skin Audio Sound Deadening: Probably more than 50lbs.
Knukonceptz wires (~200ft 0 Gauge OFC): 100 lbs

    Total Weight: 500 lbs

Now... do I add my own weight (200 lbs ) and the front D2400 battery also into the equation for a total of 761lbs. ???

I don't know why you had to turn it down on -4.5dB overlap. I run at -10dB and never had any issues. No coil/glue smell, hot subs, or hot amp.

The DC Audio Bassknob clipping indicator goes off a lot when I have it full tilt and that's when i turn it down a bit. Hmm. I just loaded the MP3s into Audacity and looks like there might be some clipping waves (was wondering why I kept getting solid clipped signals on the knob at full tilt). Nonetheless, it's still a good album :)

  3. I just drove in my car for about 2 hours and listened to every song twice.

This is the first time in my life where I paid for music.

The new Psyph Morrison CD is worth every penny.

There are a lot of nice catchy songs and definitely a lot of bass. I had to turn the bass knob down just a bit with my 4.5dB overlap tuned system.

  4. I just bought the digital album and wanted to make sure if it's safe to play fulltilt at -4.5dB overlap? Some of the songs on his last album I had to turn the bassknob down a bit with this tune overlap setting.  Thanks!

Where's the download link after you buy from the site?

Edit: found it. Have to click the "MP3" link under "My Downloadable Products"

  5. Wow! Congrats on the winner. My guess was way off! Would be cool if we got to see a raw video of the process to see what these other products look like since I've never used them before:  " 120 sqft of Luxury Liner Pro, and 48 sqft of Hydrophobic Melamine Foam" It would have been a perfect demonstration of how to properly apply second skin products to a vehicle.

But yeah, it's too bad the segments from the show for Second Skin was not very long but still cool to see yah on TV :)

Nice man sounds good. I might try that. I do have a gap in between the trunk lid panel that's pretty big, only problem is it has my brake light harness and access running through it so kinda hard to cover that up.

Here's an older picture - The part with the fat mat stuff you see in this picture is where I didn't apply the great stuff foam because my wiring harnesses are in there. I still need to remove that Fat Mat and sound deaden smaller pieces in that area but I ran out of Damp Pro.

  7. Spraying a bunch of "Great Stuff Foam" from HomeDepot and THEN applying double layer of Second Skin Damp Pro really helped me with my trunk lid rattle.

You spray the foam in between the lid gaps but be careful not to over spray or it dents your trunk lid surface. (Not sure if your car has gaps in between the trunk lid panel).

I started with Fat Mat sound deadening in 2010... it was crap stuff and melted on me so I had to remove most of the FatMat years later...

In 2012 I tried Elemental Designs eDead vse1... the foil was so thin it would easily come apart and the adhesive later was super thin.

And finally, when done right... Second Skin Damp Pro!

You can kinda see the yellow foam in the holes on right and left of my trunk lid in this picture:

    second-skin-audio-damp-pro-trunk-lid-201

I like the way the Second Skin Audio Damp Pro looks so I probably won't even put my carpet panel back on the trunk lid.

Not much rattle from the top part of my trunk lid. I was lacking some sound deadening for the rear brake light end of the trunk lid which is probably what was rattling in the video. I didn't want to cover up too many panel gaps because I need the space to replace my brake lights and other stuff when they break. I'll probably go back and cut smaller pieces to deaden that area later in the Summer.
