I have a few questions if u dont mind

why dont u paint ur whole box?

    shit just says top lmao

why dont u put in a false floor and L-bracket yur box to it?
so there aint a bunch of straps everywhere

u have 2 be losing bass with that gaping hole under the box like that

how does ur box not move around when music is playing? that amps no joke

ive seen u post that u have a 250 amp fuse but I only see two 125 amp fuses pls explain

    thanks

I don't have any tools for cutting wood. I'm better with electrical work than carpenter work; hence no false floor. I was actually wondering if I'm losing bass with all that gap air space in spare tire well.

Before when I had my subs fireward towards the cabin, I had old school textbooks on the left and right of each gap to keep the box from sliding left to right. In addition, I had Second Skin Audio damp pro taped on top of box to my car panels. That was how I sealed my box from the trunk.

However, right now, I might have to keep an eye to make sure that box is not sliding left to right since there's nothing on the left and right gaps of the box.

The 250A fuses are for battery #2 to battery #3 runs in the trunk (fused for wire). I have two runs positive and negative for them 2 batteries in the trunk.

I'm using 4x 125A fuses for the 4 positive runs from DC 5K amp to the battery.

    P.S.

I'm still looking for a universal adjustable pipe / brace thing so I can put it here to keep the box from moving right to left:

Wow. I've bought from them many times w/o issues. Even returned an item because it didn't fit. Again, w/o issues.

I'm reading more and more people having problems with them. I wonder what got changed, what's going on.

Keeping communication with them is the most important key in your situation. I know how frustrating it can be when things get mixed/intertwined in the mix.

I remember while back when my PPI amp that I bought from them stop working (internal fuses didn't blow) and they let me RMA it back to them and get store credit. Their customer service use to be really good. For example, they use to give me like $5 store credit whenever I order something that wasn't in stock when it was suppose to be. Now a days, I don't get store credit and pretty much have to wait for the back order or cancel. I have a couple of fuse holders that I need in order to finish my builds but it's on backorder.

SonicElectronix must have new management because customer service has been shit.

  3. I'm looking forward to the West Coast Customs Second Skin Audio episode.

I redid my trunk Lid today:

Got my Free Second Skin Audio Speaker Tweaker into my doors finally. It didn't need any more Damp Pro but I added some bigger sheets to my door anyway for better looks.

Other sound deadening I've tried in the past just doesn't work... For example, here's a picture of Elemental Designs eDead vse1. five years later...
the foil on it is starting to come apart and the adhesive is not sticking as great:

Here's a picture of Second Skin Audio sound deadening on doors taken from 2012:

Here's the same door picture taken 5 years later in 2017:

Get your sound deadening done right the first time and go with Second Skin Damp Pro. Once you stick it on, it stays on - done.

  4. Wow. I was actually looking for a Dash cam lately. Been thinking about the Thinkware 770 but I read how if you have sub woofers it would keep triggering the shock censor thing and keep saving recordings in a folder. I'm looking forward to seeing more video reviews from the one you got. I've been waiting for Thinkware 800 to come out in June for price drops to hit on the 770.

Dash cams seem confusing when you want to hardwire it and have to buy additional " Cellink B battery" for them (probably doesn't even need these specific made batteries if you can just have it wired off an XS Power batter or two).

I think XS Power should make some batteries geared towards "secondary/third battery for dash cams"

Can you show us what it looks like when your system is on Full Tilt while driving? Does it shake the hell out of the video footage?

:(  I just killed an amp from vibration. I will be sending it off for repair.
Not to pick at a dead horses corpse. But i have a used scv6 and a new scv7500 if you not gonna repair you scv6k again.

Hmm. Was amp mounted to box? If so how long did you have it mounted like that? I'm asking because I'm worried this will happen to my DC5K... Although, I did have CJ18 build the box with double layers in the back so that I could mount my amp but is that enough to not break the amp due to vibration?

most dont do own installs and probably roasting equipment constantly. Kinda doubt any of these systems are on "real" power. Running say 5-6kw at idle and holding 13+ is easy to do without much charging, just need batts. Seems to be more about how loud can I get this trashcan full of rocks to sound rather than how actually loud it is (most of us look for bass with no rattle, but tearing metal is part of it; I knew some local shop owners who said people came to him to add in loose metal into trunks to make it "louder").

Interesting. Looks like a fun meetup they had nonetheless. I looked up some other videos on Chango's youtube and there are a lot of nice cars with cool paintjobs.

  7. I've just made a purchase for the 30 sqft of Damp Pro.

Another note I'd like to add...

The link posted in the main thread is broken when visitors use the link: http://www.secondskininsulation.com/

To be specific, your URL doesn't change on my web browser; it only says: " www.secondskininsulation.com/ " on all of the different web pages that I click on.

As a result, the website was not letting me check out to pay for my goods. This might be a problem for new visitors going onto the website in the future.

The URL I had to use in order to check out my items was the following link: https://store.secondskinaudio.com/

It took me a while to realize that the link posted in this thread was not the official Second Skin Audio URL.

  8. New CC-1 user here! The instruction states to set the volume at 0 and then gradually turn it up until the green signal light goes on.

However, when I was doing it, I already had it somewhere under my max clean volume.
I initialized the CC-1 and the green signal light would go on and I would just hit read and adjusted my HPF on the amp until the blue calibrated light goes on.

Is it ok to do it this way? It won't set my frequency at some weird number?

I'm assuming the instruction just says to have it at 0 so that users don't break their equipment by turning the CC-1 on and go into a giant clipped signal...

    Thanks in advanced!
