  1. I have 2 x-12's in a ported box in my 2013 maxima. The box was built inside the trunk and would have to be broken to remove it. plus there is no access to my spare tire. I have 2 Memphis mc1.1100 amps daisy chained at 2ohms providing a total of 2200wrms (maybe a little more birth sheets say almost 1200wrms each) to the subs. They sound good and I get some flex in the windshield and headliner.

Idon't want to buy a new amp because I don't have room to install an extra battery. (running mechman xp270a and 1 xs d3400 under hood 0awg wire + big 3 upgrade)

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS Would my system sound louder or better switching to 1 zv4 12" ?

  2. I wouldnt use to seal boxes personally to be honest.

I wish this product came out a little sooner because this is exactly what i needed to reseal my lights after doing a retrofit. I basiclly spent double the money for a inferior butyl product that im using now.

a couple good uses off the top of my head:

sealing tail or headlights after custom modifications

resealing the stock guard on the door after installing speakers, crossovers & tweeters

any plastic or metal installation of speakers and tweeters

can be used in conjunction with Damplifier to seal larger gaps in sheet metal (example in my old car the front firing subs had alot of acoustic cancellation and needed an air tight seal between the cabin and trunk. In between the rear deck and the trunk there were several largeish holes in the sheet metal that when covered with only damplifier wasnt very stable as is much less with 150db of pressure once everything would be complete. Since this was before this product was out what i ended up doing was basiclly getting a sheet of damp pro peeling off the foil layer and putting the butly into a ball. then rolling ball into the desired rope shape to then be shoved in the corner of the trunk and covered with damp pro)

I meant for when you want to have a removable panel on a box and you need a gasket

  3. i have two memphis car audio mc1.1100 amps strapped to make 2200w rms. the birth sheets say they do about 1200w rms certified power. dynamic power i have no idea. i was wondering if these amps would be enough for two sundown x 12s. i know theyre rate 1250w rms a piece but people say they are some power hungry beasts and they are throwing 1500w+ at them daily a piece. i just dont want to buy 2 dual 2ohm x12s and hook them up and be disappointed. and then have to go out and get a 5000w amp because now all i can do is a 2ohm configuration. since im strapping these two amps together the best impedance they can do is 2ohms ..they wont go to 1 because they both just go into protect mode. tried it before

  4. I drove out to moreno valley today..roughly 1 and 1/2 hrs away for me.. to meet with cardboardcat15 ..he sold me 2 xs power d3100s..gave me a good deal...I tested the batteries witg my dmm on 12v load and they both sat at 12.6v..even had them tested later with a real battery tester and the test showed them both good..no low charge or anything..which is pretty good he said he had them sitting for two months ..im pretty happy with the outcome..im planning on hooking them up soon just to keep them charged until I get everything else I need for my build ..im pretty happy with them..hopefully they last a good amount of time..I would recommend him as a seller no problem...goodlookin out cardboardcat15 I appreciate it

  5. I think the only way it would sound better is if you have the sub fowRd port forward and the trunk sealed off even then I think it would just have better sq..when I did a 15 in my impala I didnt seal off the trunk and it was loud but I was losing alot a bass thru the trunk..my friends kept tellin me they could hear my 1 12 farther away than they could my 1 15..on the same wattage. I dont see the point in changing anything ..if you have 4 level 4 12s its already louder than 1 level 5..more cone area and motor force..unless youre gonna take the level 4s out and put them in another car then id understand.

  7. I love to see a sale...I'm getting ready to order my first deadener ever and a little discount would be awesome. Trying to decide between Damplifier and Stinger. A sale would certainly sway my choice ;)

1st ever? Don't make the mistake of buying cheap shit like most of us did at some point.. U won't be satisfied go with some real deadener like second skin or spray dead.. Or dynomat but don't get the cheaper ones.. The right deader will make your car sound better and you system sound louder.

  8. I bet if you have enough bass you could probaby crack those doors..I would say some liquid deadener would help out but I think cld would be a waste because its to stop resonance right? Fiberglass wouldnt have thag resonance but it would have alot of flex because its flexible..maybe try spectrum sludge and if it still doesnt get it done..more sludge lol

  9. I have used fatmat in two different cars I also used some other cheapo "deadener" on my old school Monte Carlo.. The two cars I used fat mat on neither of the had problems no falling off no melting or leaking but I do live in sd, ca so it gets warm hear but not as hot as many other places in the us. Also I noticed that the fatmat did cut down on the rattling but it didn't accomplish complete deadening even with double coats. When I used fatmat I figured all deadener were the same so I didn't bother buying anything else. But once I joined this forum I started to learn about other products. Like second skin damp pro and spectrum and also a similar liquid deadener called spray dead. I'm kind of upset that I have all this fatmat on my impala because I would like to use something else but I don't want to deal with taking it off. I just ordered some spectrum I'm going to apply it to the trunk and see if I see a difference but that's going to be hard since at the moment I have no sub stage

  10. Either poor ground connection or the cheap/ wrong wires.. you can get noise from rca wires that are not meant for your amp. Theres two kinds differential and single ended . Most high end amps like sundown need differential rcas..the way to know the difference is if you have the rcas with two twisted wires inside each wire javket its differential..usually if u cant see more than one wire in the jacket its single ended..another thing is I found sometimes you can get that noise from the prefab box terminals..if you absolutely have to use prefab what I like to do is pop the terminals out remove the metal connection and run wire straight through the holes of the plastic terminal instead of having an extra connection..and then I put thw terminals back on. Or it could also be a poor headunit ground..I like to ground mine to bare metal instead of grounding to the black wire on the cars harness
