I'm thankful that I have less than 90 days left over here in this f**king hole of Afghanistan. I am really thankful to have such a good wife that is able to handle the kids and everything around the house that I usually do (and she starts the FWS for me every week so the batteries don't die).
Thankful that you clowns are all here to keep me entertained and in the loop!

how much do you wonna pay per shirt?
It all depends on the quality.

Well, I'm am looking for somebody to put together around 20-25 T-shirts for us over here. I wanted to go with Derrick but he hasn't replied to my email or PM, so I guess he dosn't want anything to do with us. These will need to be durable daily-worn work shirts for a group of helicopter mechanics. PM me for details and pictures.
Somebody with experience please! I don't want to have a bunch of tees falling apart on us.
Thanks, Pat
I'm sure Derrick is BUSY. Give him time to answer, he'll come aroundIt's been three weeks or so - figure that is enough time.

Well, OK.. I'm thinking that these might be the way to go. I'm thinking about a couple comp sets to replace the CDT's that I'm running now, a 4" coax for an a pillar build, along with a set of E-8's... Cool
-
Cool, that's sounding OK.. I might pick up a couple pair for my Tundra.. maybe some extra coax for the Sausage.
If anybody else has some experience, let me know!
Thanks!

So, Does anybody use the T3 comps sets - the T6S for components. Also the T5C and T4C for coax.
Just curious about the sound, and power handling. The website claims 100 Wrms for all the coax and comps. Will they really take that much?
Thanks!

thanks pstone im gonna try that. but just so we are clear, i need to run a neg from front batt to back batt?
You don't need to. I have three runs of 0 gauge + and 3 runs of 0 gauge - running from the front battery to the back batteries.. Also the back batteries are grounded to the frame. Can NEVER have too much grounding action going on in your truck (unless it's positive wire grounding action.... that's no good).
Can't hurt, that's for sure.

OK, In my Sonoma...
Eng Block to Frame.
same spot on frame to - of front battery.
Rear batteries to frame
All Rear batteries also to - of front battery
Hed some eng noise, but it ended up being the ground fron the head unit... Ran that straight to the front battery as well.

I've ordered quite a bit of stuff from those guys. It's always been perfect with good shipping prices.
-
I do it because it's fun. Gives me an opportunity to combine woodworking, metalworking, shadtree, beerdrinking, and hanging out with family and friends - all at the same time.
-
1100-1200 tops is all I would put to it sealed. I had 1000 on each of mine (ported) and they heated up really quick.
-
i was looking at those but i was thinking of throwing a audioque amp to them and they said they will get stinky with 1200 rms if not more on them.
OK, just wanted to make sure you saw that deal.... Almost perfect for what you need..
-
loking for some 2 12s that can take abot 1000 rms if not a little bit more.and that are atleast dual 1 or at least in a configuratoin that will make 1 ohm
BAM! Done!

Doc. J has a great point ^^
If you want to do it yourself, just go with some knukonceptz wire... It's fairly inexpensive and good quality.

i think it would be awesome to work with these things. they are so cool to me. any kind of aviation is
good to see ur still alive pat. ive been missing ur work
Thanks bro.
-
i always thought it would be cool to do something like that but i cannot join because i'm hearing imparied. good luck
Yeah, I've been in the service for 12 years now, and I've had the opportunity to work on an amazing number of aircraft.... I love what I do, and I know lots of people like you who should be in, but just can't get here. There are a number of drawbacks though..... like going to the desert and leaving your family behind for months and months... and being in the desert in general.. that sucks too.

So, I've been in and out of the forum for a couple months now.... Spent about a month in Jersey with the crazy army people, then got a whole week to spend with my wife and 2 kids, and now I'm down in El Paso for another 3 weeks right now. Then home for 4 days, then gone for 6 months. Just figured I would share some pics. I am a Helicopter mechanic, and I'm in a course to learn how to work an a russian helo so I can supervise other people overseas.
Here is a little broken hip (these are all old russian birds). Put a smiley face in it, and it would make a perfect Thomas the Train character.
This is the Hind, or Mi-24.... Tough bird, lots of rockets, missiles, guns..... man it's goofy, but intimidating..
This it the one that I get to hang out with.... kinda a downsized hind...... It's a Mi-17 - the russian military version of the Mi-8 Hip. I've worked on all kinds of helicopters for the last 12 years, this one is a little funky and different, but seems like a sweetheart all the same.
Just keeping you guys updated.... I'm not leaving you all, just away from home with the slowest internet on the planet.
The Sausage is still strong..... no worries....

wish i could remember but there was a guy that had tons of the art series, enough to make your keyboard/monitor unusable till you wipe them down... maybe i'll remember
That would be awesome if you could remember....
-
Already watching those.... I'm really looking for the art series link, but I will probably end up picking up that white sedona link as well.
-
Maybe this weekend??
-
None of you old farts out there have any?
-
Looking for a couple old PPI art/sedona links to put a couple amps together. I have White art/proart series amps and dark gray Sedona series amps that I need links for.
I see them on ebay occasionally, but always seem to miss out on the bidding.
Thanks!

WTB: Front Stage Amp(s)
in Want To Buy
Posted · Edited by pstone11
OK, well just like the title states, I'm in the market for good matching amp(s). Need anywhere between 75-100 RMS per channel for the new front stage thats going in the sausage - 4 pair of speakers that take 100 rms. Def. do not need any kind of rediculous SQ amps, just some reliable run of the mill type amps. I was looking at the RE 800.4's (v2) which can be picked up for around 150 a pop new... But, I'm open to suggestions and I am really not in a giant hurry. I would like to have these amps waiting for me when I got home in Feb though. Looking to spend in the neighborhood of 300 or so for the pair... really open to anything I guess.
Thanks, Pat
edit - I guess I'm not really opposed to running a single amp at 2 ohm either, so 150-200 clean watts x 4 at 2 ohm would be acceptable as well.... or a pair of 2 channel amps at 2 ohms each would be OK too.. Not too picky at all.
