Performance wise I know they'll get lower and probably sound better. I just think at $$380 they should have the better baskets. The sa12 baskets are a lot better imo. In the $400 price range subwoofers shouldn't cut corners on the basket. A lot of people invert their subs. This is all jus opinion.

I hear ya.  Its all about what YOU want.  Why not refurbished Xv.2 12's?  $329 each and you'll get both of what you want.  IDK

  2. Man, I'm excited for him to hear his beat!  I have buddy's that aren't into systems but love being in my cars because I am.  Every now and then, they want me to put something simple in their cars.  The looks on their faces are priceless, and they can't believe it's their car sounding the way it does.  Even better to have them tell me they find any reason or excuse to drive somewhere so they can listen to it more.  He's gonna hear sounds and details in songs he didn't know existed!  Can't wait until the next vid!

  3. What HU?  I would used the HU LP filter.  That way it gives you some sort of clue to where its at.  Start at 80ish and work your way down to your liking.  Boost all the way down.  Honestly, I would adjust the gain by ear to match the interior speakers.  Give yourself a little room for adjusting the SW level for those days you want to feel it.

After that, I would find someone close that could help you tune.  Maybe with a DD-1, etc.

it was a fun fix! and she is slapping pretty good! He is extremely happy too and that is what makes me happy.

Helluva feeling knowing you did something for someone out of the goodness of your own heart and it made their day. Makes the gesture even more gratifying. Genuine "Good Dude" shit right there Steve. Much respect! :good:

  5. For me it was the OG Kicker Comps. I heard some 12's in a friends Bug in a bandpass. It was hella loud, but didn't have much down low (probably box dependent). For lows, it was my cousins OG Eclipse Ti 15" in a huge sealed box. Seriously, it was at least 5-6 cubes in the trunk of a 96 SS Impala powered by a Rockford 1500BD I think. The lows were disgusting!
