Cool man thanks, I think when I get paid I'm gonna pick up another amp for the 15 I will just keep the soundstream for my type r's
-
it's a p3 500 rms and the box is 2.65 cu
-
Bad ass man. Some more great vids.
-
Why not just wire the coils in parallel and get a 2 ohm load and then run the amp in stereo at 2 ohms? Its going to get a whole lot more power and be a whole lot louder too. The only thing that may suffer a bit is sound quality, but that won't matter that much.
Yeah I was gonna but would I have to put a resister or something on the other channel. What about running a coil on each channel?
-
Ok thanks guys it will have to stay like this for a little bit until I get another one.
-
my amp does 1400 rms at 4 ohms and 700x2 at 2 ohms in stereo I have my sub wired at 8 ohms it's dual 4 ohm I was just wondering if this will hurt the amp at all or is it just gonna put out a little less power?
-
If your building this box so that the subs and port fire back your going to need room to let the pressure into the cabin...otherwise its not going to preform that was it should and your going to be disappointed.
Yeah thats how my box is now and it sounds good but I need to get louder and I only have 12's now
He said he already has a box about these dimensions, but that may be why he wasnt happy with his old box.Got the box in my email thanks man looks good we'll have to hear how it sounds.

Alright,
Its done, my computer was not so compliant [i am in th middle of a thunderstorm and the power has been flickering]
Im really tired, so by noon tomorrow i will email you the file and a list of the sizes of wood you will need. [i am asuming 3/4 inch MDF].
yes 3/4

I'm making it
W: 36"
H: 16"
D: 23"
Sound ok? The tuning isn't 100% accurate, but it is between 31-33. gimme about another hour
sweet man that should work fine I have to take a nap have to work in the early afternoon I'll check back with you when I get up.
Thanks, Dan

The smaller the depth the better though I think it will barley go into my trunk
-
so what are your new max dimensions?
I'm stuck at 2.3 subes per sub at the moment, an inch or two would do it.
And you can still polyfil if you want.
W-36
H-16
D-26
My poor amps will have to go somewhere else
-
I'm almost halfway done, pm me your email and I will email you the file.
You want a vertical or horizontal port? and i'm assuming u dont want to use PVC or aeroports.
And i can make changes really easy, just let me know
a horizontal port if the specs will work that u have great but I do have a few extra inches if I move my amps LOL
PM sent
-
let me run out side and measure to see what I can squeeze out of it I might have to build the box inside the trunk. I'll be right back
-
Ok
W-32 IN
D- 22 IN
H- 15 IN
-
i just searched and downloaded it I have xp so no worries
I really appreciate you trying to help me if you come up with something that can fit in my car and sound good I will send you a few bucks if you have paypal for taking your time to help
-
well I would like to get the wood cut and the box together by the end of the week, I dont know what google sketchup is? lol
-
Sorry dude, with wood thickness and port displacement, you are prolly lookin at 5 cubes max. I don't know of any 15's that will want that small of space. Maybe you could stuff with polyfil also? that could put you up to a theoretical 6-6.5 cubes. What subs is it and what car? fold down seats?
*edit* I just looked at the p3 wanting a 2.66 for ported. Where do you want the port and what direction for the subs? If I had some more info I could try and work on something
well I dont know what would sound the best but I would prefer the subs and port facing the back

Ok heres the specs on my box I have in my car now and it's a tight fit I need to squeeze these 15's in my trunk I have no clue on box building and I would prefer a ported box around 32 hz if possible but if I have to use a sealed box I guess thats what I will be stuck with. If someone can help me out asap that would be great the subs are on there way and I wanted the box to be ready.
Width: 32"
Height: 13.5"
Depth: 19.25"
I could go 2 inches bigger from these specs
-
ok not meanin to step on toes
u were thinkin ahead of me
No prob I just had to edit my post after reading the specs lol
-
yes it comes with the knob
I know he wanted 1k at 4ohms but we all know that wont happen for that price

I would recommend ECLIPSE not just because I have one but it sounds better than my alpine 9853.
