  1. I have the solid center console with the shifter init... I wanna take it out and mount a couple 10" cadence mids in it... Yay? Nay? If yay how do I take it out?
  2. I am building my own box for my 15" btl in my crew cab 2004 f150... I wish i could post pics from my phone right now since my computer is down Smd needs a mobile app like CACO The box is gonna net 4.1 cubes and be tuned between 33-34 hz the port is 3.5 x 17
  3. to build on that?.... Can I wrap my posterboard in fabric then piece what would be the box together soak the fabric then layer the fiberglass appropriately?
  4. k sooo heres a thinking on the fly question....Once I create my templates in posterboard...can I fiberglass the posterboard and use it as a base? and basically add layers?
  5. It'd probably be easier to just drill a ton of holes all the way around and then karate chop it out Do i get bonus points if I karate chop a double baffle? i mean.... it is 2". I will do some research into it.... Ill probs just get a router then get creative to make a circle. Is there a quality aspect to a router I need to be aware of? I am assuming that if I go cheap it will probs break?
  6. can you think of any way around that? the me doing it part. A jig saw and the perfect circle type attachment would probs be at least $150? I am hopin I can find a family friend or somethin to help with that part
  7. thanks for the input.... I realllyyyyy wanna avoid power tools and saws..... primary reason being that I am currently living at home cuz I just graduated college. So I am in the Los Angeles area right now though I have some interviews lined up for Harrisburg and other places on the east cost coming up. I dont wanna have to have more shit to take with me or buy something just to leave it at home... I plan on getting some thicker posterboard and then cut it and model it to a box and then get the wood cut accordingly
  8. K so up to this point I have always paid to have boxes built for me. Per a recommendation yesterday I am forgoing paying to have another box built. I am going to be building my own box and need tools to do so. I plan on getting my wood cut for me at either Home Depot or a friends. Other than the cutting of wood what tools are 100% necessary I am trying to streamline and not spend insane amounts of money. I am moving my 15" btl from a giant ass tower of a box in my back seat to more of an armrest. I will be fiberglassing the inside of the box for support...as I have seen many people do it?. So I will also need recommendations on kinds of fiberglass to buy. I am currently thinking US Composites? because it seems its kinda all included(epoxy and catalyst). So give me a check list as of now I am thinking: -Power Drill -Clamps -Wood Glue -Fiberglass(epoxy and catalyst) -Sandpaper Thanks for the help in advance... I am pulling out my box tomorrow and starting a build thread to go along with the project as I will definitely need help
  9. I was hoping for a local who wouldnt have to ship... I am honestly thinking about doin it myself but the only thing that I know I would have a problem with is the tuning. and making the port... Do it yourself if you can man, what are you worried about tuning and the port wise? Let us know, myself and MANY MANY others on the forum would be glad to help and explain, answers are abundant here. What are you confused about? So to start I am fine with the designing of the shape etc. I feel id be fine getting some clamps/wood glue/etc. I would even feel comfortable getting the fiberglass stuff to glass the inside of the box... I dont feel comfortable or confident in trying to calculate out port area or the width I should make a port and the length of the port.

  11. To cut to the chase... I have a 2004 F150 and I have the back middle seat chopped out so that my 15" can be centered in the back seat. Currently the box is unsightly big and awkward. Its on a stilt so it sits real high. I need a new box built... about 4-5 cubes. Rough dimensions are 17" x 26" x ?.... the height is kinda irrelevant. I would just like the box to be armrest height not dividing wall height. My location: I am in the Santa Clarita Valley.
  12. Also...I dont want to come across cheap though I am being cheap about this because it is a college room and I am a college student. I dont have a big budget and though I can do 1 18 fine..if the deal presents and someone is trying to get rid of a pair for a good price and is willing to help me out it would be much appreciated. I have a xbox 360 which I can throw in as a partial trade if someone is interested
  13. It is a good deal but not quite good enough for what I need. I need something probably max for 2 subs around 300. I may just start by buying one and then buying a 2nd
  14. Im looking for 2 18's possibly if its a good price 2 15s. These are going in my room so they don't need to be 2000w rms. Im actually looking for around 800 watts RMS. I'm gonna start the search now because I'm looking for a good price
  15. You need 150 posts on this forum to sell. Thanks, Drew
  16. Ill check out the dayton. My only complaint with the onkyo thib is that the receiver doesnt have hdmi or the outs to hook up an additional sub amp to....that I saw at least. I was originally looking into onkyo
  17. ya hahaha you did call me out on the open to anything. If i can sell my kidneys in the next couple days I may take you up on that. Also I may be interested in that receiver and sub. Just give me till the first week in sept. when I get my check. I have to see how much my box is gonna cost for my truck. How much are you looking to get for it?
  18. that would end up being a bit out of my price range right now. Id like to pay at most 600-700 bucks. My goal is a 5.1 receiver with at least 100 watts a channel, a ht amp to put about 600-700 to a sub and then a sub. lol
  19. I am looking for a new home theater system for my dorm room. I want something loud and with a LOT of bass. Not too picky on brands just want it totalled over 1000 watts. I have a 15" fi BTL new style, 2 10" fi Qs, and an xbox360 for a possible partial trade plus cash. pretty much open to anything
  20. plasma is the way to go. They have a better refresh rate which is well above a 120 hz lcd. There is just more hype right now about lcd so the price is higher. Also the original issues of the short tv life are gone. They last about the same
  21. So iv been looking around for a while and dont have the time to build my own system which saddens me. I am looking for a 5.1 surround sound system with receiver but instead of the traditional sub I'm looking for a system that has at least 600 watts rms of bass. I kno its kinda asking a lot but just trying to see if someone has what I'm looking for.
  22. I never got a call back. I didn't even realize u were on the forum till right now. Are you still interested?
  23. Im never gonna own anything but Fi. Last year I was having problems with my Qs and I stopped in and they helped me out
