  1. thats not the power im running but just an example with nice round numbers.
  2. so if im at 12.8 and the amp pull just as a hypothetical example 100 amps im getting 1280 watts, but if i have 14 volts and pull 100 amps im getting 1400 watts. How does voltage mean jack shit if thats the case?
  3. Charging to high? I'm not trying to charge up at 15 I'd like to be at 14 though so I can actually get every bit of power out of my amps. Curious wouldn't it be possible to externally regulate to the batteries n amps and then step down the voltage to the computer to not throw errors?
  4. I can live with a check engine light lol if that's all it takes then that's what I'll do Also thanks for the info, that's all I needed to know that it's just the computer telling it not the charge higher
  5. But why can't I charge that high? Like what is stopping me from getting higher voltage? I've got money to throw at the problem lol
  6. maybe i am, im just used to my old 90 dodge caravan where it was 14.4 all day way back when lol
  7. will test tomorrow, feeling skeptical lol
  8. so is there anyway to get it up to 14 constant? id like to use my amps to the full potential
  9. well on the older alternator if i turned the light dimmer to like night time mode or whatever it would keep the voltage at 13.5 if i switched it to all lights off then voltage would go down when accelerating and increase when slowing down like 12.6-12.8 while accelerating and get up to like 14.4 while slowing down. with this new alternator the light dimmer or lights have no affect although the ac does drop voltage if im going down the highway and its at 14 volts and turn the ac on it will drop it back down to like 13 volts.
  10. I apologize ahead of time for my lack of knowledge but this is the alternator http://www.mechman.com/alternators/mitsubishi/lancer/2-0l/2008-2011/g-series-270-amp-alt-for-mitsubishi-lancer/ o and as for it saying 2008-2011 the lancer hasnt changed really at all engine wise from 2008-2014
  11. Hey guys I recently installed my new g series 270 amp from mechman into my 2014 Mitsubishi lancer es 2.0l and before install my car would idle at like 13.5 now with this new alternator I'm at an idle of 12.7 when I'm going down the highway at like 80mph it gets up to 13.8-14 volts but this is killing me I need more on my idle or even low speed cruise. I don't understand this problem at all and if anyone has an idea of how to fix this please any help would be amazing. Plan on calling mechman Monday but until then any info?
