  1. Ok so the subs are in a 2.25 cubic ft per sub box tuned at 34hz powered by a saz-1200 .. my question is if I set the gain with say even -5db will that be pushing the amps limits to push the subs way harder then what they should be for a ported box with that much air space? From what ive got from sundown is with a larger ported box less power is the safest bet. So would I be better setting the amp with the 0db track?
  2. Ok I have two sa12's poerted at 34Hz in 2 cubic feet per sub..powered with a saz-1200d lpf at 80hz gain set with a dd-1 with -10db . First I had the subsonic at 28hz an it sounded sloppy it went to 30 an a little better sound an couldn't tell any loss off low end at all. But still doesn't sound the best like the sub losses control at higher volume. . So would it be better to set the SSF exactly at port tunning?
  3. Well I have a sundown amp that has the clipping light on the remote would the SMD Output Meter OM-1 be worth upgrading to? What would be the major benefit? I have the dd1 an cc1 now awesome tools. ..
  4. i had two of the OG E12's in my civic coupe on a kicker zx750.1 an was banging hard an now i have the two sa12's on more power an custom box in my TC an dont sound as loud.. in the civic it would make my ears numb but with my system now its just not the same ....
  5. Are you running @1ohm on the 1500? Yep sure am hows the lows with them.... i wish i could had gotten the Ev2 but i ordered them an was sold out so paid more for the SA's an dont have the power to get them real nasty.... i would get a bigger amp but i dont have room...
  6. i ask because i have a SAZ-1200d an im running two SA12D4's now . it sounds good but can tell needs much more power. im just wondering if the E12v2 would get me better output with that amp?
  7. So can anyone tell me how much difference between the two...I have a sundown 1200d would that be a good match with say two E12v2?
  8. No its the only one I have . I'm not really sure where you can even buy just the control itself.
  9. yes when I set the gain using the dd-1 I had the remote maxed .
  10. Ok so the amp is a saz-1200d gain set with a dd1 at 0db 40hz an when I take the remote from min to max back an fourth I can hear a thud from my subs. I've used a different tel line also an it makes this sound even with no RCA's connected to the amp.. I know my ground is good . So I have no clue why its doing this any help?
  11. Only thing strange to me even after setting everything with them dd1 sub amp at -5db track 3 the clip light on my amps remote gain control is solid red when jamming hard ... So who's right dd1 or the amps clip light?
  12. On my other system two kicker L5 15's that have a kicker zx1000.1 on each sub have never gotten as warm as these sa's... But now keep in mind my sa's are firing upwards in a hatchback Sun hitting them also... Maybe I'm just paranoid....
  13. Ok so I have two sa12's d4 on a saz1200d gain set with a dd1 on -5db . Can crossover an ssf set with cc1. Crossover at 100hz an ssf at 30 Hz box is tuned at 34hz... So after playing today in 80 degrees sunny day for maybe 20min an went full tilt maybe 4-5 minutes on a track the dust caps was pretty warm ... Not like burning hot can't hold my hand to them hot but noticeably warm- hot... No smell..so is that normal with the sa???
  14. my amp Is a pain to get to to try t on the ground. an plus idk if i should do that.....i guess it will give me the same tuning...
  15. Everything I've seen online says negative to amp ground!! But my manual says to speaker negative. Why? Does its make any difference? Mine is manual rev.7 2014
  16. I kinda understand that on a amp that's constant power like jl Audio slash or the new rockford line . But with amps that various with voltage it almost to me looks like your most stable voltage would be when the best spot to set it at .Maybe...
  17. Ok so with the car off my sundown amp 12 volt is 1200 + rms... So with the car running that is going to go up yay more power .. but is that in return going to cause clipping?
  18. Or would a -7.5db track? I could turn it down on bass heavy tracks . -5db is a little soft Idk...
  19. I also set my gain with the -10db track... I bump a lot of E40 . So would the -5db be a better choice against clipping? An still bang
