Ok my amp is a sundown saz 1200d my bass knob is a gain control not a boost knob... Should I set the gain with it half way or maxed out?
-
I've set it with the car off an with the -5db track but my amp remote has a clip light an its showing I'm clipping at higher volume...
-
So when setting the gain with the dd-1 should the car be off? Or running?

Ok on the sundown saz 1200 the crossover goes from 35hz to 300hz trying to figure where 90hz would be? Any one know?

thanks Steve I ordered my smd dd1 last night! Can't wait!the only related problem (to this) i saw was where someone yanked our probe cords too hard causing the wires inside to rip apart and touch each other inside of the jack itself. IIRC he admitted walking away with the dd-1 in hand while it was still attached to the amp. I've done it personally although i never ripped the wire...but i can see someone not paying attention and doing so. Then, like a dim-wit, the guy decides to hook it up to another amp. I guess it sparked and made the amp go into protect. Not really OUR fault. He even sent it back to me and it was CLEARLY pulled hard (abused), causing his issue. I don't care if you use an O-scope, DMM, DD-1 or anything else to tune your system. If you rip the wires on any piece of testing equipment and then probe an amp, it's asking for trouble.
The DD-1 will not damage a sundown amp as long as the wires weren't broken by user error (and still shoved in anyway).

i suspect the .00001% of users who have had a similar issue, also have a bad probe wire. We don't ship them bad, they don't go bad on their own. If someone reading this has a DD-1 and accidentally rips the wire, it's ok, like i said, i have done it. But don't be a dummy and probe the amp anyway (without verifying the cable is good). Call us, we will most likely replace it for you.

Well I'm set now on my sundown saz-1200d with a dmm on my gain .would I benefit from the dd-1 much?

So no way if used properly it could damage a amp then?
