  1. Ok trying to better understand.  I'll admit I'm not 100% sure so try to help me with this lol. Looking at most lpf filter graphs you will see to the left 0db and down and at the bottom going a cross lpf range 20 to 100hz and 80 is chosen.  Well that's setting 80hz at 0db well we set with overlap at say 10db so at that level would we need the lpf to be set much lower to counter higher frequency cut off?  I'm looking like with 10db of overlap to be correct with 80hz I would need to set around 50hz to 56hz. Idk help me understand.  Because I set with 80hz on the money with the cc1 and sounds like shit but set with 50hz and sounds amazing, has this been overlooked.

He must have had a reason for telling you that, can't say I know why.

Safer side would be the 0 overlap so I would give that a try, and if you don't hear any bottoming out then you could keep it or tune  it with -2.5 overlap and check for any bottoming out once again.

Would you use the subsonic filter on the amp it's fixed 28db 12db slope, everything I see also the smd cc1 manual says 15's dont need sealed but I'm looking at the over power the subs will get would it hurt? Looking to get as deep as possible.

5 cubic net sealed box? Seems pretty big for those subs

Those P3s call for 1.58 cubes per, so 3.16 cubes, +/- some if you want to have the suspension move easier, but I think 5 cubes might cause them to bottom out especially with over rated power.

That was what Forrest at Rockford recommend when we called him was 4.5 to 5 cube and I personally told him the t1500bdcp so was he thinking set the gain with 0 overlap I really wish I had asked him.

I had an issue with the gain knob in my daily making a "thud" noise with the subs and it turned out the knob was actually a little loose - I could move the knob a little bit back and forth and it would make the thud noise so I just disconnected the knob and haven't messed with it yet.

Strange mine does it on the amp side, I really only like having it for the clipping light.

I actually start with 0 to make sure everything is working on first fire up, then go to -15 and compare.  Work my way down from there.  if you are already over powering be careful.  Do you ever smell your coils??  I tried around -7.5 but seemed like too much, right now I am at -5.5 and it seems about right (thanks DD1+)  in spring since I've had this set up for a year at that time I may play with -6 and even -6.5  (and everywhere inbetween to really get it dialed in).  Keep in mind that EVERY set up is different, what works for one person won't work for you etc.  Watch the temps of your subs, voltage, smell, etc. etc. and if the subs sound like they are too over powered etc. etc.  just readjust.  Have you figured out what your rise is??

No still haven't figured out my box rise yet. Iam currently set with the -10db track 40hz and when getting at my max volume I can start to smell the subs so I'm thinking-7.5db might be a better choice.

  6. With given power the subs are seeing should the subsonic filter be set closer to the tunning? I went with what the cc1 manual said but a little higher I set it at 28hz low bass is pretty good just been going easy and haven't went full tilt yet. Most people telling me with the box tuned to 35hz to set the ssf at 25hz but I feel like that being maybe if I was running only the subs rms not over.

  7. So been seeing a lot on the new car audio bargain cab ultra sub and spec and price I can buy a sa12 for the same price I'm just wondering what sets the sub apart from the sa line? I know jacob sold cab the sa ultra sub rights but I thought the ultra was a a 1000 rms sub , most people are putting 1000 rms to say subs anyway with no problems. No hate or anything just curious.

  8. So far the clip light on the remote doesn't even flash at all even at max uncliped hu volume now that's with the amp set with a -2.5db track, would just like to get a little more on quite tracks and some tracks feel like they could do a Lil more. So probably do at lest -5db and back down the sub level on the hu to be safe on loud tracks I don't like using the bass knob other then the clip light.

  9. I dont see the point of overpowering your subs if youre contemplating turning down your amps gain anyway.

    -7.5dB. Use your senses.

and like Kyle said, LEARN your gear and know your music.

Edit: I just saw that youre wired to 1 ohm nominal. You arent seeing much power at all. Dont be worried.

Wurd.... wired at 1ohm? fuck, use -10 and be kinda smart.
lower power with box rise? What kind of power do you think the subs are actually seeing then? Right now I'm set with a -2.5db track just feel like -5db might do a little better.
