what happened?
someone broke in and took everything they could get real quick. head unit, books, wallet, hopefully getting a newer head unit from insurance this week, and some new rca's and tweeters.
-
if its 1 ohm stable, it will support higher ohm loads, no problem.
it doesn't matter if its 1.08 or 1.94,2.77 it will do it.
675 shipped on the refurb at db-r.com
go with the sundown if you have the money.
i have to pay a 500 deductible for when i got "theived" 2 weeks ago, so im gonna need cheap power, and then selling my kicker amps for cash. more than likely. i just need something a little more efficient. planning on getting another amp for highs in the front too.
-
how much would a saz3000 sundown cost?
-
so yall are saying that a 1 ohm stable amp will be able to support a 1.34 load with no problem?
or does it really depend on the amp?
-
anyone ever try the BAMF series 5500 or whatever it is. i was just looking at 1 ohm stable amps to get an idea of cost. im thinking the saz3000 would be a little much for me right about now. no offense to any sundown fans.

3 Kicker L7 15's
1000rms Dual 2 VC
Wiring would come down to 1.34 ohms.
Just wondering if this would be smart. Dont want to fry a amp. What ohm stability would i need?

sorry to hear about ya lost, i hate when when stuff is stolen from me but at the same time i think its funny, but most of the time its sum1 u know. when u get the alarm get 1 that remote beeps and or vibrates when its triggered with in range ofcoures.
good thinking. thanks for the idea

i built my box the way i did, so nobody could take it, just with there was a was for my dvd player to get locked in place. im just gonna get a louder alarm system i guess.
-
that sucks man, ive had shit stolen from me and i was so mad. i didnt believe it at first. i thought my brother took my cd player out then i looked around and saw that my back little window was broken out. i know who the kid is, he is in jail right now for a bunch of other robberies and when i see him next imma kick his ass, call the cops and say he threw the first punch, boom broke parol go back to jail card.
yeah i instead punched the shit out of my car. no dint really, just wanted to get the frame. dumb idea

anyone looking to get rid of a touch screen dvd player?
-
fuckin blows....i hate theives
yeah, so i guess new build in the works. once i get money. i only had about 1000 or so on my debit card, but got it cut off. he left the faceplate to the flip out, so he wont be able to use it really
-
the forensic guy said how much did the subs run you? and what are they 10's or 12's? i was like 15's and he was like holy shit. but i designed my box for this kind of situation. i had a electric screwdriver in the car, im suprised they didnt take the subs

No Alarm?
i live at a apartment complex, and was parked right by the entrance, the guy that lives under me, said he heard the alarm go off, but thought someon just hit the panick button. i was up until 3. and the guy said he heard it at about 2. so something doesnt add up. but its cool and all. just thinking about how much everything adds up to.

Damn that blows, sry...
im really calm about it, i knew it would happen one day

Clarion dvd player, without faceplate
Wallet, with money, License, Credit Cards
The girlfriends purse, meds, money, camera, wallet
Bookbag - $1000 worth of books, calculator, glasses
--- Left the amps, subs, components,
--- Oakley shades, ipod, and check book on the center console
They busted out the rear driver window.
:hairtrick: with no window, or head unit

i am thinking about a enclosure that you really never see. something unique. i have a 4th order now i do believe
Anyone have any pictures of interesting sub enclosures?
-
im thinking of making a box with boxes connected to it. with fiberglass somehow. want to get a couple 6x9's for the rear surround. so it might end up looking like a wall
edit:didnt mean to make that sound so weird.
-
you are touching on a good concept there.
Ever hear the term, "port loading"?
Thats basically what you are doing by firing the ports back. This is especially good in an SUV because of the low tuning frequency. tahoe is probably in the low to mid 40hz region for a peak.
Forward firing ports are usually meant for mid 50hz to 80 hz tunings, so the tahoe wont support the design at all unless you want to burp at 60hz.
i want a daily box maybe something different, sq with the ability to hit the low lows
-
In a tahoe, and any SUV for that matter. You want ports firing to the rear for the highest SPL.
What this does is better match the resistance of the air in the port to the resistance of the air in the cabin of the vehicle.
Ports up works a little but not as good, and ports forward wouldnt work unless you can seal off the area behind the port with a wall so air cannot travel behind the port.
basically the inside of the car is the enclosure still. by firing it back, it just makes the cargo door part of the port. so port back makes it more port to get to the ear, but the sound waves will be more together. up will muffle it a little because some sound waves are going to go away from the ear, and facing front will basically make it fastest to the ear, but still be muffled because of the space behind the box.. right?

3 across front loaded horn?
should boogy=) i havnt the slightest clue how to design one though, im guessing theres enough room
yeah, im not exactly sure how to tune it, or what the dimensions should be for one of those
-
get louder subs, lol. jk
nah, subs up, ports back would be the loudest type of box other than a wall.
Common chamber with a big port.
ha yeah i wish i could get something better. subs are already up, and port is up.
would port facing the front be loud? like having the port go over the rear headrest facing the front

(3)Kicker 15" L7 D2
Going in the back of my 01 Tahoe.
Tired of old set-up.
Any suggestions to make this loud?

it is "new" is about the only thing i could say about it. it just re-organizes everything and makes it harder to find at the moment. But from the little time i have been playing around with it, it is pretty cool.

i had some memphis tweets that were low watts, and had them running off the head unit
