  1. what happened?

someone broke in and took everything they could get real quick. head unit, books, wallet, hopefully getting a newer head unit from insurance this week, and some new rca's and tweeters.

  2. if its 1 ohm stable, it will support higher ohm loads, no problem.

it doesn't matter if its 1.08 or 1.94,2.77 it will do it.

675 shipped on the refurb at db-r.com

go with the sundown if you have the money.

i have to pay a 500 deductible for when i got "theived" 2 weeks ago, so im gonna need cheap power, and then selling my kicker amps for cash. more than likely. i just need something a little more efficient. planning on getting another amp for highs in the front too.

  3. anyone ever try the BAMF series 5500 or whatever it is. i was just looking at 1 ohm stable amps to get an idea of cost. im thinking the saz3000 would be a little much for me right about now. no offense to any sundown fans.

  4. that sucks man, ive had shit stolen from me and i was so mad. i didnt believe it at first. i thought my brother took my cd player out then i looked around and saw that my back little window was broken out. i know who the kid is, he is in jail right now for a bunch of other robberies and when i see him next imma kick his ass, call the cops and say he threw the first punch, boom broke parol go back to jail card.

yeah i instead punched the shit out of my car. no dint really, just wanted to get the frame. dumb idea

  5. you are touching on a good concept there.

Ever hear the term, "port loading"?

Thats basically what you are doing by firing the ports back. This is especially good in an SUV because of the low tuning frequency. tahoe is probably in the low to mid 40hz region for a peak.

Forward firing ports are usually meant for mid 50hz to 80 hz tunings, so the tahoe wont support the design at all unless you want to burp at 60hz.

i want a daily box maybe something different, sq with the ability to hit the low lows

  6. In a tahoe, and any SUV for that matter. You want ports firing to the rear for the highest SPL.

What this does is better match the resistance of the air in the port to the resistance of the air in the cabin of the vehicle.

Ports up works a little but not as good, and ports forward wouldnt work unless you can seal off the area behind the port with a wall so air cannot travel behind the port.

basically the inside of the car is the enclosure still. by firing it back, it just makes the cargo door part of the port. so port back makes it more port to get to the ear, but the sound waves will be more together. up will muffle it a little because some sound waves are going to go away from the ear, and facing front will basically make it fastest to the ear, but still be muffled because of the space behind the box.. right?
