  1. Oh that makes a lot of sense now I didn't even think to look at that I just assumed .2v was the min thank you for explaining
  2. Brain fart - is + and + is -!!!! cant believe i have been figuring this out for two days
  3. beers after haha i will triple check tomorrow guys so i can proove i am right about this one but the system sounds perfect now
  4. guys im not kidding negative probe went in amp ground and positive in positive i will upload a picture tommorrow
  5. Okay it's set perfect the gains were backwards on the amp or something because I checked and rechecked with both the dmm and dd1 at clean signal 33 sub level 15, for everyone saying not to set sub level at 15 you were incorrect in regards to alpine headunits I figured this out because with sub level at 0 the max voltage the amp would see was 22 volts which 1200 watts should be 36 volts so I set sub level to 15 volume at 33 gain knob turned to what is labeled on amp as 6 volts the max and did not get distortion kept "turning down gains " until solid distortion light came on. Then hooked up dmm so I could see the volt reading instead of being 54 which is what it was with gain knob all the way down it was now at 37 so it was perfect. Double checked this and everything checked out. So thank you everyone for all the help I guess we can see why it took so long . I can't believe I figured this out I should PayPal everyone who helped a gift
  6. Guys I think I solved it give it minute so I can explain haha
  7. I can't explain that except the gain is backwords it appears
  8. Okay first picture 0db 40hz track 29 volume that is maxxed clean signal before distortion according to dd1 and sub level at 0 all settings flat. The second picture is exact same settings except gain is turned all the way
  9. Where are you taking the reading? Taking reading from sub I'm not lying the voltage decreases at max gain it's like its reversed is that possible I can take a pic hold on
  10. Your fucking kidding me that worked let me try gains and see if I can get a constant signal
  11. Okay guys I just used the multi meter on the amp 29 volume gain all the way down shows like 36 volts which is not correct it should be lower like 6 etc now the very interesting part is when I turn gain up voltage decreases so at max gain volume 29 it is showing less than 6 volts I can take pics bc I doubt anyone will believe me
  12. So what should I do next I set the gains exactly how everyone said. If I am correct should my sub out be putting out a 4 volt signal at 0 like you said because nobody listened to me when I said that from everything I read plus 15 for alpine head units in fact means it is a 4 volt signal it is not boosted above that. Because with gains set how you guys said my clean signal is 29 amp gain at half and the thing is not pulling any power. My question is do I want my sub out at a 4 volt signal
  13. This is how I have it hooked into amp
  14. They had to have changed the manual bc I can't find an updated one online it says it for all the settings plug black in negative speaker
  15. That is not what my book reads and I did it your way and no signal
  16. Poked the black probe into amp ground jacket positive hooked into speaker positive no signal still connect ions are all tight the book says use negative speaker out but I do believe you guys why is not showing a signal
  17. For setting the gain of a subwoofer amplifier it reads connect red probe to speaker positive connect the black to speaker negative I tried putting the probe in my amp negative and the dd1 would not get a signal so I would say it's supposed to go in the negative speaker
  18. My dd1 did not come with a clamp just the probes I loosened the ground and put the probe in but the dd1 did not show a signal
  19. My dd1 did not come with a clamp just the probes
  20. It says to use the negative speaker terminal. The only way I can put it in the amps negative is by taking out the amp ground is this what you mean for me to do ?
