  1. No matter what I do I can not get a solid distortion signal in my saz 1200 when adjusting the gain knob I have tried all the tracks -5 -10 -15 0 I have tried with sub level all the way up all the way down. It never shows a distortion signal I have read the book rechecked everything. I don't know where to go from here I have gain set right know a little bit below half. Any ideas I was going to use a dmm to see if that will get me a ballpark I know they are not as accurate as a dd1. Could something be wrong on the amp some people said maybe corrosion, it is a used amp besides this it works perfectly

  2. Okay everything is all set I have the max unclipped signal at 29 set the gains of the full range speaker using a -5db 1khz tone used a -5db 40hz tone. My only question is I never get a solid distortion signal when turning up the gain knob it just bleeps in the manual it says that it will do this and wait for a solid distortion signal. Even at max gain I can not get a distortion signal. Does that sound normal? I have the gain at 1/4 turn right below the first blip and I know this is wrong because sitting idle at full blown my voltage doesn't even drop below 14 which is not correct. But I feel like gain knob all the way up does not make sense. I am going to use a dmm today to try and get a ballpark of where gain should be unless this just means I need to have gain knob all the way up since it does not give me a distortion signal.

  4. First things first then. Are all the settings on the head unit flat? Crossovers open, No EQ, no bass boost, no 'LOUDNESS' turned on? And subwoofer level at ZERO (this can be readjusted later).

i feel the wrong track(s) have been used.........

i feel he used a MINUS track to find head unit clip point, and from there....... your dicked (would explain why his volume clicks where SOOOO far down showing clipping )

I used the 0db tracks plug in the front stage rca played the 1khz 0db track no clipping signal at max volume. Plugged in rca jacks from sub out to dd1 played 40hz 0db tone. Now I don't even have a 40hz signal show on the dd1 with zero sub level. Okay max unclipped is 35. And yes all my settings are flat crossovers open etc. So then I play the -10db track as soon as I plug in probes into amp distortion light comes until I back down the volume does the same thing when I use a -5db track is this normal?

  5. why are you setting the gain between 2 blips? has this been answered in all of this already?

I don't know. Im fucking done. Kid don't listen.

I do listen I was told two different ways to do this one person said I needed to put sub level at 15 the other said put it at zero. Everything is all set I did it exactly how you said but I don't understand why I can't get the distortion light to stay on after I turn the knob past the blips I get. Full gain shows no distortion?

  6. Not all head units are the same, thats why.

Now did you ever get a solid clipping light?

The only time I get a solid clipping light is when I try to move past the max volume. I don't understand why I don't get a solid distortion signal when I move the gain knob the light will come on but if I move past it then it goes away that is what does not make sense to me?

  9. Okay sub level 0 max unclipped 33 set gains get the blip at 1/4 turn and 2/3 put gain in middle of these. Know can someone explain why I do not set sub level on headunit to plus 15 from every thing I was told and read this gives the preout the 4 volts if it's set at 0 Its a lot lower. I can find the link if people would like I was just told two very different ways to do this
