  1. somebody?

using torres and inputting the specs on the skar website there is something wrong:

Skar website: Outside Dimensions : 19 Wide x 20 Deep x 14.5 High says gross volume is 2.0 Ft ^3

    Torres Calculator: Outside dimensions : 19 Wide x 20 Deep x 14.5 High says gross volume is 2.44 Ft^3

That difference is kind of a big deal especially since the skar site says its tuned at 32hz where as torres says its tuned at 39hz?

I am basically trying to figure out why there is such a big difference as I am trying to design a box for a honda accord, but the information isn't adding up.

    somebody?

    nobody?

  2. Well, that's a hard one.

I listen to everything from rock, rap, country, just about anything.

Really want good sound quality on all of it but want nice boomy bass as well.

Like to feel it in my chest as well as feel it move a little hair on the back of my neck as well...lol

Once I get my electrical up to par...

    Dual alternators (2 stock 165amp)

    Xs batteries front and back

    All 1/0 OFC wiring

I plan to run 4 vvx 12's sealed

    Powered by 2 sk1500.1's strapped.

I believe only then will I be satisfied.

Just looking for a happy medium until then. (6-8 months)

    Its in a 02 yukon

  4. Sub is rated for 900RMS and 3CUFT is what's recommended as well, so...

However, the enclosure isn't tuned to 32Hz according to "my" calculations, or should I say Torres, nor is the internal volume exactly 3Cubes. According to Torres, the enclosure is more like 3.09cuft tuned to 36Hz after port and sub displacement. Not sure "I" agree, but that's what I got using Torres.

Weather or not such is correct, it seems your amplifier lacks a subsonic filter, so I hope you plan to avoid playing anything with bass below the tuning of the enclsoures, be it 32Hz or 36Hz.

Stuff from artists like Young Jeezy could spell disaster for the sub.

Also, getting the gain set on the amplifier properly will be key, as the sub is rated to handle more power than that amplifier is rated to do, and I'm not so sure it can even do rated power at 1 ohm, at least not without one hell of an electrical system backing it.

    How about this.

    width: 24.5"

    height: 20.75"

    depth: 18.5"

    port width: 2.5"

    port height: 18.5"

    port length 1: 15.25"

    port length 2: 13"

    total port length: 32.75

Box volume: 3.43cu. ft after port

After sub displacement i should be around 3.25cu. and

between 31-32hz if this is right.

  5. Just attempted to build and tune my first box.

If i did it right.... What folows should assemble a slot ported box that is about 3.0 cu ft tuned at 32hz after displacement.

Could someone please double check this for me?
