  1. at 1 ohm, you're never going to see full power, after impedance rise.

Hell, you'll probably rarely see 600 watts while wired at 1 ohm on a 1.2k amp.

Explain why a 1200w amplifier will rarely see 600w, and I'm not being facetious. Maybe I'm missing something about impedance.

I assume he means when playing music, because the power output will vary a lot depending on the sounds you are trying to produce.

  2. Okay, so what is it you want to know about DC subs then? As I said a level 2 could most likely get louder than the Kicker, level 3 and up most definitely. They do cost more, you get what you pay for.

That said, shop around. You have time to do some research, and I don't think fixating on one specific brand is a good idea.

EDIT: Also call them up. This is their business, they will not mind answering questions for you.

  3. HI everyone. Im new to the forum so all this may have been already adressed and for that I apologize. I live in southeast texas and around here kicker is the standard. I myself have 2 kicker cvr 12s in my car and 2 cvt 10s in my truck. I am fixing to buy another truck and included in my purchasing decision will be what music I can fit in there. I have been searching youtube and other sites and I think that I like DC Audio. Now I Know that Kicker is not all that but what my questions would be(never having heard DC,Sundown,PSI or anything good you know)what level would match or exceed kicker. For instance my 2 cvr 12s would level 2 12 outdo them or would i have to go to level 4 you get my drift. Its alot of money to throw out on a guess and I have never even seen or heard of DC around here. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I would imagine level 2's would be louder than the CVR's, but it would also depend a lot on amp and box.

  4. That Nevada ride is hell. Boring, straigh and long as fuck. Done it many times. Once to go get my amps from Rusty, Ana, Rabe, and to hit AUTORAMA.

    Ride is the shits.

    Anyway.,...

Looks sick. They do nice work.

I wanna hear that whine up, and blow down. :)

Youll love it. It will completly change that vehicle. From WUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuu to WHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.... :roflmao:

Hope Utah was nice to ya. The drivers are retards, so ill apologise for them now, but, hope ya enjoyed the scenery. Its beautiful here.

Go have fun and be safe man. :drink40: Come back at easter :twirl:

The people make up for their driving with their cooking though

  5. Ha! I received a sub with a damaged surround and was basically called a liar by sundown by saying it was my fault. They won't fix it under warranty because they said I did it during mounting. I never mounted it and the fresh mounting holes with glue still in them from the factory show that. I sent pictures fresh out the box and I'm stuck with a $400+ paperweight in my living room now.

Last time I buy sundown I guess.

Actually you were issued an RMA # to send it in for examination; we cannot make a decision without seeing the product.

This sounds a tad more like what I would expect, or at least what I would hope.
