Hey Hey Hey cant beat that good ol gallon of sweet ice tea. LOL.
-
Hmmm. Now I see I will have to incorporate plexi into my box.
-
Alright we will have to reassess the budget lol. Guess Ill look into a 320 alt maybe, under hood batt, and 2 more in the back and see where we are at then. Cant wait to get this build started. Will be posting build log.
EDIT:This is going to be in my work truck which is actually my daily driver.
-
Sorry Im new to the whole extra batts and stuff. Never had this many watts so Im still learning. Thought what was on the website was enough. But yall have thankfully taught me different.
-
Hey neil that man will that answered is a DC genius. Get up with him and he will help you.
EDIT: And I didnt say they wouldnt fit, Im just not sure that they would fit with optimum performance. Like I said that man will can help you out.
-
And where are you getting these numbers that the amp will put out.
-
Dang. I wasnt expecting to drop a grand on batts.
-
Sorry guys to bump this thread but I just read an interesting thread and didnt want to jack it.On the 5k on DC website it says 1 upgraded alt-1 upgraded batt under hood- 1 batt in back. Now with all wiring being done 1/0 and big 3 would 270 mechman and d3400 under hood and 3400 in the back be enough. Probably end up with 175.4 for mids and highs
Edit: Or go post in Electrical?
-
Well I think they require 1.5 sqft each. Thats 9 cubes total for a box. That would have to be an amazingly huge trunk. So maybe someone else could help you better. I would have to say buy an suv and start ripping out seats bud.
-
Alright.Alright. Yes lots of youtube watching and talking with lots of ppl. I am in the DC section because thats what I ended up choosing. Yes DC 5K. And the last question was 4 or XL. So debate settled. And XL it is.

Looks like XL for the win.
-
I went and checked on his youtube. Didnt see it. But I do believe in the amp. I just was wondering 4 or XL.
-
No not deadset on level 4s. Just want to make informed decisions. Im set on 5k with the electrical upgrades. So I want to make sure I get right subs. Will chimed in as always. TY will. Want to build the right setup without buy this, no dont like it, have to sell it, buy more. Yeah I just want to get it right the first time. BUT DONT WE ALL. LOL
-
ok one final question for this thread. I said 5k thats what I will have . Now with all that I have read on the RMS being bullshit for DC(in a good way) would the level 4s which are rated at 1400 be alright on 5k. Or would the XL be better. Just wondering if the XL would be underpowered.
-
TY guys. I think I finally made a decision. Ill probably go with two level 4 15s with a DC 5K. After the research I put in the 5k is where I want to be to start out because of electrical upgrades. Once you get your Mechman and a few batts,Big 3, and wire You have spent some money without even looking at the system. So thats how I made my choice.

I havent checked out soudqubed yet. Budget is not what Im looking at. I dont plan to spend 15000 you know. I will not be going to competitions but I do want that WOW factor. But just for a base comparison(ideal watts, box, wire, etc)does level 2 compare with a cvr 12 or 3, or 4 so on? Because I want to be blown away by my new system but for 700 dollars i get one dc level 5. I could almost get 3 cvrs for that. Im new with this comp audio stuff and im just trying to figure out what im getting for these levels and these prices.

thank yall for replies. I understand amps and boxes matter all that will be sorted out but before I spend money on kickers again which have become expensive I would like to try out other things because the 2 cvr 12 just dont do it for me anymore. I want to experience SPL for real but daily driver you know. I just dont have a comparison base because DC isnt around here or any of these great brands.

HI everyone. Im new to the forum so all this may have been already adressed and for that I apologize. I live in southeast texas and around here kicker is the standard. I myself have 2 kicker cvr 12s in my car and 2 cvt 10s in my truck. I am fixing to buy another truck and included in my purchasing decision will be what music I can fit in there. I have been searching youtube and other sites and I think that I like DC Audio. Now I Know that Kicker is not all that but what my questions would be(never having heard DC,Sundown,PSI or anything good you know)what level would match or exceed kicker. For instance my 2 cvr 12s would level 2 12 outdo them or would i have to go to level 4 you get my drift. Its alot of money to throw out on a guess and I have never even seen or heard of DC around here. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
