  1. Has all the bandwidth I wanted now. I knew something didn't sound right. I'm glad the shitty prefab it came in didn't fit in my trunk, that pushed me to do this. Pretty pleased for my first box design/build ever!
  2. All finished up and the new box made a world of difference. I calculated the tuning out to just a little over 34 after the 45's and bracing. It is so much more musical now. Thanks for all the help and feed back everyone. Here are some pictures of the build. Next on the table is the big 3.
  3. Thanks, I am going to assemble the box this weekend I'll put some pics up when I am done. There will be space on the sides and on top of the box for the sound to travel back and I can open a hole in the back seat where the arm rest is.
  4. So tores doesn't include port thickness for displacement even thought I have port thickness as .75? I did try crunching total volume number on my own and it was slightly more but ever so slightly not quite as much as you are stating. If I wanted to keep the tuning the same would I just want to add an inch or so to the port length?
  5. This is what the box would look like with those dimensions and port length
  6. What do you guys think about this revised version. I did the cardboard test again and am able to squeeze a few more inches. This is what I came up with.
  7. Thanks that was honestly my first time ever using sketch up definitely was pretty proud of the outcome. Building anything won't be a problem my pops is a carpenter. I just grabbed some more cardboard boxes to do some more testing. Won't be able to try it out for a few hours until I'm off work though. I'll let you guys know the results. Thanks for all the help and advice.
  8. Bummer. I really tapped myself out cash wise grabbing this not really knowing much about sundown other than they are great quality. I tried to widen the port but I could not get the tuning dialed in making it any wider. I just don't have enough experience with box design. If you guys know someone that could design a more complex one maybe not cube shaped that would fit I know I could put it together.
  9. Right now it has the SAZ-1000d but I plan up upgrading that to something in the 2000 watt range soon. And I listen to a wide variety, Electronic, rap, rock. I was told that in a smaller enclosure the X Series can take more power. I do appreciate all the feedback.
  10. It wouldn't gain much, there is still metal and stuff in the way. Non rectangular might work but still pose the trouble of being able to get it into the car and this will be my first box build ever so I didn't want to complicate it too much. I have no idea how I would even begin to design that lol.
  11. I really want to be able to remove it from trunk if need be. I travel around regularly and need the space sometimes. I already have the X 15 got a good deal so didn't pass it up.
  12. I do not, I can't go taller because my 6x9s in rear deck are in the way. And I tried going a little wider/deeper and no way will it fit.
  13. 2005 Mitsubishi Galant. So not a lot of space to work with. Just got too good of a deal on this set up to let it slip by so trying to make due with what I have.
