  1. Still does it on the iphone, though it was still slightly louder. Excursion only get to about 3/8" - 1/2" before it starts. Could it be something to do with current draw? But my voltage doesn't drop down?

Also what will happen if you don't back down on the knob/volume is that the amp will go into protection mode or something and the subs will make this slow rhythmic chirping sound. But when this happens the protection light doesn't come on, but the power light dims and brightens with the same rhythm.

What is going on? Does this sound familiar to anyone?

  2. For some reason my Fi's are no where near what they used to be. Now when I turn my bass knob up just a little bit, something in the system freaks out and the subs react chaotically. It doesn't even seem like it is clipping or anything. The subs will be playing at a nice sine wave at low power and then I'll turn it a little more and it freaks out.

    Today I:

Tried playing some sine waves to see if it were from the songs I have been playing but it still did the same thing.

Tried it without the knob and used the volume for bass...same thing

Adjusted the gain...still the same at 1/4 gain

    Checked the coils...they're fine

All the connections are good too

I don't what the problem is And if I can't figure it out I might sell everything because I could use the $.

If anyone could help I would Greatly appreciate it.

  3. why not 3 15's...

sexy ass ports too. why is one smaller than the other though

Thats alot more $ for Btls and power for them, plus better electrical

That pics is from the guys website I haven't bought them yet...still designing.

x2. those are badass! where did u get em? how much?

i think u might be good with the 70 sq in...

    http://www.subwoofer-builder.com/flares-for-sale.htm

    Thats is Australian dollars

Shipping is upwards of $100 though from Austarlia

why couldnt u use 2 ports for the 15s?

They would be about 40 inches long

  4. Well my mojos are starting to suck...blew a coil actually. And now its time to upgrade to BTLs

    I'm stuck between 2 15s or 2 18s

    Here is the scenario:

The ports will be outside the box.

I am going to use these ports...

    a_pair_of_tens.jpg

Deal Breaker for 15s: the only practical option is to use 1 of those ports for 8 cubes

Fi recommends 12 - 16 square inches of port per cube

    8cuft x 12 = 96

    8cuft x 16 = 144

So about 96-144 sq inches recommended.

that port is only 70 sq in.

    Would that be a problem?

Deal Breaker for 18s: The only problem for the 18s (using 2 of these ports) is that the box would simply be too long to conventionally mount the ports outside the box...

So to still be able to show off those peerrrty port flares, I was going to mount half of them inside the box and the other halves outside the box with the joiner PVC glued into the side of the box.

My problem with this is that the inside port flare is going to be about 12 inches inside the box rather than flush with the wood like the 15s would be.

Is this going to pose a problem with the function of the ports?

    So...15s or 18s?

  5. and did u loose the allen heads, its looks like u have screws going in here...

    Posted Image

not a good connection bro... u want to smash the wire down and create alot of surface area of contact, not pin it in place with a screw

They aren't allen head bolts. They use a phillips head. thats the way they came.

You have the sub wired up right bro.

Just a suggestion, If you don't have your remote gain knob hooked up, do that now. Then play with it a lil and see what happens.

  6. Hey Jacob,

I was just wanting to send you a pm seeing if you got my payment for the 3500 but it was full. Should be from [email protected].

Also wondering some of the criteria for joining your team as well.

One last thing, I hope that two of these will fit in the speaker outputs on the amp, the bridged ones I guess.

    4 awg stepdown terminals

Yeah 4awg is quite large for speaker wire but each wire is going to be split up into 4 8awg wires.

Just send me a PM mayne

    Thanks Jake.
