  1. (putting this up top so anyone that doesn't wanna read the whole thing will still see it)

does anyone have a reducer for the nvx amps they are willing to sell or know where i can get one

    /\ build in question

so i recently (kinda) had one of my jad1200.1 amps start acting up (video on build page) so i contacted sonic about getting a replacement they responded quickly and after paying for the shipping label i sent it out

it took about a week for it to ship to them and them to ship it back (about a week total) and upon receiving my new amp i opened it to find it was missing the power adapter bass knob and Manuel bag so i contacted sonic on February 25th

i got a response that said " I've put in  a missing parts order. It should be fulfilled this week,  with the parts that you need being shipped out to you." that was 8 weeks ago

on March 16th i sent a follow up email and was told "I checked and follow up the order and it shows that it is in pending approval status. But, I already sent a follow-up request for this order so that we can send it out as soon as possible. I do apologize for the inconvenience."

on April 4th i was told my replacements would be sent out 4-26-2017

on April 7th i received a package that was supposed to contain the power cable reducer, manual bag, and bass knob well 2 outa 3 aint bad right? right? wrong! i got the bass knob and manual bag but not the power cable reducer (which i stated in my first email was the only item i needed)

upon finding that the reducer was missing i sent another email to sonic on April 7th that received no reply

on April 19th i resent the email from the 7th and i was told "We apologize for this delayed response. I can request this missing part but I cannot give an assurance to send it fast. If you can source this piece locally, I'd be happy to credit your account." to which i replyed "I have not been able to find just that part from any retailer or I would have likely already done so seeing as it has be ~ 2 months that I have been trying to get it from y'all"

    tl;dr

if you need a warranty replacement from sonic your golden

if you need missing part to be replaced better grab the ky jelly cause its not gona be fun

  2. If there's a .75" difference between the pulley on the new alt versus the old alt, then what is 84.5 - .75?

I could be wrong but i don't think that would be right considering it would depend o. The contact patch of the belt on the pulley so you would have to use pi and figure out the diffrence relative to the degrees of contact

But that could be the over thinking talking

    i'm probably completely wrong.

    good possibility so am i

  4. These will be much easier answered via a short phone call really. 888 MECHMAN x202 or even via email [email protected]

    1. Yes

    2. You can put that will change output depending on the application and size.

    3. No the alt and belt is installed correctly what alternator you are using will not cause you to change the belt sooner.

    4. No not in most cases.

    I guess Ill just reiterate.

    1. Yes

    2. The belt size in most cases wont change even with the smaller pulley

    3. No, you should not see any extra wear on the belt from it being a H/O alt

    4. Generally no, but that depends on the engine and draw (You do loose hp under load, but generally not enough to notice)

thanks for the anwers but as this post wasnt getting responces i put another one in the main electrical thread and got the answers i was looking for now i just need to get the money togather lol

  5. im considering getting a alt for my 04 trailblazer 4.2 but i have a few questions

1.from what i understand its bolt on plug and play correct?

2.can i swap the pulley to the factory size one on the alt i have so i can keep my belt i just bought not to long ago (and payed extra for a 3 year warranty)

    3. assuming i bought a new quality belt (gatorbelts seem to be highly regarded) is it of high likely-hood that i will be changing belts at every oil change (or rather is what is being discussed here a rare or common event)

    4.is there a noticeable lost/lag of power

    extra notes

-this is a daily driver and will not usualy have a high demand

-the extra power isn't just for audio it is also for a inverter and off-road lights

-i was told my alt is getting tired so i will likely have to replace it "in 6 to 12 months"

    any help is appreciated

  6. Didn't know the best place to put this and if the answer is no then it would need to be posted here anyway

I understand you have to have X number of posts to sell but what about to buy from a seller

Reason I ask is when I go to the classifieds all threads are locked (I don't think they where before) even the new ones

they don't have the padlock in the thread list but after i click on one the reply button says its locked

I'm on a droid turbo if that info is needed

  7. Say someone had a ~$700 shopping cart they were saving for, would that person be able to do a "name your deal" on the cost of the cart

(I know it would depend on contents not looking for a defining answer just looking to see if its worth asking the second question)

if it was eligible how would one apply for said deal

Yeah, I've done this. Just put the different items in on the form when you submit and I'll check it out. If i'm not able to create a coupon code for the items, then I'll talk to one of my sales guys to make the order. You still get the same SMD hook up, but it is easier for them to put together the cart for you with the discount.

Sweet as soon as the money replenishes (ain't it grand when life puta its boot in your nuts and steals your money)I will fill out the form
