  1. My friend had a Stetsom and it pretty much sucked. I am not going for SPL at all, just musical. I will more than likely get another Atomic 5000.1 if I can find it at a decent price
  2. Well I think it's time to upgrade my setup and I am a bit confused over 3 different amps here. I am not all crazy for just these three so suggestions would help a lot. So far I have come up with: 2 Atomic 5000.1 amps 1 SounDigital 8000.1 amp 4 RD 3250 amps (I would buy 2 now, and 2 later) I'd like to keep the price around $1500 give or take, I don't care how small the amp is, if its large, no more than 26" long *Notes* I already have an Atomic 5000.1 so buying another would be slightly easier If SounDigital is anything like Stetsom, I want nothing to do with it. (a lot of people keep comparing the two)
  3. Well I am not too worried about the weight, my vehicle is pretty high off the ground. but with that being said, if it were around the same price, I might get new alternators instead of batteries. I just like the lifetime warranty I currently have from ACDelco since they are both stock lol
  4. Chris (MLA Audio) has the same car as me with 2 150 amp alternators pushing 20,000 watts. The only difference is that he has like 18 batteries or something crazy like that. I really don't want to upgrade my alternators so would 4-5 Odyssey 2150's be enough?
  5. I am thinking about getting another Atomic 5000.1 for my setup which would mean I would be running 10,000 watts. Currently, I have two 150 amp alternators with an MLA module and 2 odyssey 2150 batteries. I have removed one of the batteries before and still had no problem running it. The question is though, is that a sufficient amount of juice to power those amps?

  7. Looking to possibly add another amp to my system. Will not accept anything other than Atomic 5000.1. Anyone have one?
  8. I was more looking for like non-rap dance music such as House and Trance that hits good
  9. Any of you guys know any dance music that bangs like a rap song? I mean dance like house/trance kind of stuff. So far I've found two. Deadmau5 - Ghosts N Stuff ---------------------- Tiesto & Sneaky Sound System - I Will Be Here (Laidback Luke Remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4syiQhhX5Q...PL&index=52 ------------------------ David Guetta Ft. Wynter Gordon - Toyfriend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q39TrIiW8hQ <-- BANGR BANGR Anyone know of any others?
  10. thx guys, I appreciate the compliments. I agree with Epicenter though, there were way too many people bumpin in the parking lot that didn't compete
  11. My first competition ever. First place xD
  12. you were all right. I had to ground the RCA to the head unit and the problem is fixed. and yes it's a screen and yes it's a pioneer lol I guess it's a known problem.
  13. Tested a different amp. Still the same noise. Possible OnStar adapter causing it?
  14. there isn't actually any light bulbs on this particular crossover I don't think. I was hoping I could some how replace the the part that blew without having to buy a whole new crossover because I'm sure the company is going to rape me on the price (they are RE XXX). Also, I am going to go test my amp right now at my friends house. Will update when I get back.
  15. Recently just installed new front speakers into my system. My stereo now plays a whining noise which does not seem to be engine induced. Before installing speakers everything was fine no noise. Here are my symptoms: Tested a speaker on the headunit with speaker wire outputs = GOOD Ran new remote wire and still noise Ran new RCA wire to back and still noise On my new component speakers one of the capacitors blew very badly where it was smoking out of one of the new speakers Rear speakers which weren't touched with are now making noise as well The comps in the front are 2 ohms. The ones in the back are 4 ohm. possible amp problem from mixing ohm loads? Also, after attempting to play it with the noise, one of the crossovers exploded. a cotton like material exploded everywhere from outside the crossover. The subs seem to be rumbling as well even with the volume down. Wondering what you guys think this could be and what would be a way to test the output and input problems on my headunit/main speakers amp. Thanks
  16. nah I was only using 1 at a time for testing so there is no way they were really wired wrong. I tested it anyways. I think it was just a terrible recone job to be honest. it was slightly loud but not what I was expecting. I do know what your talking about though. I have done that before and I was like wtf it sounds like air moving and no bass lol
  17. yes, it is those. I called DD and they say they can't check canadian names.
  18. I used a ported enclosure designed by PWK. here's the pictures I took. Not sure if they are correct but this is the sub that isn't COMPLETELY blown but I can definitely feel it rubbing when I push on it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Owners1/DSC00596.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v248/Owners1/DSC00597.jpg
  19. yes, it was wired to about 2.2 ohms. they are dual 1.0s
  20. it's kind of a bad situation because I paid quite a bit for the box to be build and I got a nice deal on them blown or not blown. It might just be worth it to get them fixed assuming that they can be fixed without doing this shit again
  21. He claims that it's my fault. I really fail to see how it's my fault that they were DOA. I know for sure my amp is not delivering a mega clipped signal or anything. I had just swapped out my 2 15s at .5 ohm before putting in the 18.
  22. So I bought some used DD 9917s off CACO and apparently they were just reconed. Well, I had a box built for one of them just to try it out and I started to play it in the car and it wasn't exactly very loud and literally after a minute or so, the sub completely locked up. It was wired to two ohms @ 3000 watts which is pretty much nothing for a 9917. So, after that, I hook up the other one. I notice the strong smell of a burning sub after about 20 seconds of playing it loud then about 2 hours later it starts making a sound like a spring vibrating or something. This one isn't blown YET but I sense it's damaged. Any of you guys have experience with something like this happening before?
