  1. how long has it done this for ?

if u just have changed the ac compressor n had ur battery unhooked then it just boosts the voltage till the battery is charged n will go back down

my truck does the same thing

if it has been doin this for 3 days or so then somethings wrong, but if it just done it right after then theres no problem, its just boosting the voltage to charge the battery

    a while

  2. ok when car is off its 12.6-12.7 but when at idle i went from 14.4V stock to 14.8V and now 15.4V!

wtf??? all ive done is removed the ac compressor and its jumped up the two times since thus the 15V range now and no big 3 yet.

what could be making this happen and do i need to worry?

    car: 99 olds aurora

    alt: stock 140A

plus big 3 is gonna be more time consuming than most cars since my stock location of my battery is under the seat with big fuses ill try to take pics or vids

  3. I use these 2 calculators as well as Exos. The top calc I used to fix a problem with a box I built for my Type R 10". Alpine recommended a 3" port but that was so noisy I couldnt stand it. I input the specs of the sub in the calc and it recommended a 4" port which completely removed the port noise and even increased the output.

The lower calc matches Exos calc pretty well.

    Enclosure / Port calculators

i have an xmax of .9" which is 22.86mm so it says i need 10.44" min diamater! thats huge! and 78.52 min area?

  4. 2 4inch aeros at 8.25inches long would be roughly 42hz. Flared on both ends or no? It depends on what kind of setup really. Big numbers normally are done with small boxes with little port area and big power. If you want it tuned down around 36hz then perhaps try

2-6inch aeros 28inches long. That should give you plenty of port area and get you the tuning you want in a 3.4cube box.

flared on both ends and only on crunch power zone 1000.1 for now so bout 500 rms at 1 ohm

  5. I dont really understand what your asking? But you would want to go with what the sub calls for on port area. When I do aeros I like to go with 6inch because it has always worked for me no matter in trunks, or suvs. Thats all personal though man. Some people say 12-16 sq of port area per cube so if thats the case you would be looking at 2-6inch aeros. (16X3.5=56) which is 16sqin of port per cube

3.14x3x3x2=56.52 sqin of port area using 2-6inch aeros

its calls for 3.4 cubes with 2 4" ports at 8.25" but thats i guess 40hz and i want 36hz i would think 25 sq of port be too small

  6. it may have come wired at 4ohm, my correction... i have had mixed reviews with it being able to handle 2600 rms. so i wanted to play it safe. if people here have had experiance with them and it will be safe then ill deffently wire it for 1 ohm :)

2600 max bout 1400-1500 rms but i say 1000-1200 real rms

  7. no both were on the backseat

u cant fit 6 cubes in a cavy trunk? trust me it can be done...i had a 2004 sunfire and did it twice

once with 15" PA FUBRS then with 7.4 cubes with 15" PA MOFOS

first one was converting a slant face sealed box to a ported box

enclosures fit in the trunk but from the fold down to back bumper where the port sits

got boomy with lows on crappy PA 1920 2 channel plasama amp

ask lanman b out what size u can fit in a cavy/sunfire

  8. take a piece of string, put it dead center and follow the curve. measure the length, subtract the amount of straight pieces inside of the elbow, and you have your length.

little different question...but what about if some if ur port is outside the box...like bassbox pro 6 has an option for no flush ends... because 6" port needs to be 6" from enclosure wall correct?
