  1. Thanks for the explanation. I was reading that a ported box may be better suited for what I listen to after having this issue. I was rather disappointed when I first got it running and played a few songs that I thought would sound good. This was my first build and went with what the box designer recommended. I will try a ported box like you recommend and see how it works out.
  2. Thanks for your help, now to find someone to design another box. Any recommendations?
  3. That's why I wanted to ask you guys before i paid someone else to try tuning it. I was thinking about having a new box designed by someone else to see if it improved any.
  4. I went back and looked at my messages and it is tuned for 42 Hertz. The subsonic is set around 30 and the low pass set around 110. It's a Ford f150 crew cab, I'm trying to upload pics to imgur but it's not cooperating. The box dimensions are 38x28x20 and the port size is 18.5"x6"and 16" deep. Sealed chamber is 1.91 cubes and the ported chamber is 6.03 cubes. https://imgur.com/a/bM7JjJ0
  5. I had a 4th order spec'd out for 2 level 3 DC audio 12" subs tuned to 35 Hertz and I'm using a 1600 watt amp. It hits hard with some rap and rebassed music but if you list to rock music like Metallica or Five finger death punch, there is very little bass. I told the designer the type of music I listen to so I'm not sure if I need to go to a ported box or find someone else to try tuning it. Anyone have any suggestions?
  6. I'm going to start off by saying this is my first audio build and have a question on wiring the 2 subs. I know how to wire them to be at 1 ohm but what's the best way to wire them? The reason I ask is I'm not seeing how two wires are going to fit into the connector on the sub. I originally bought 8 gauge wire based on what a friend told me to get but it looks like it's barely going to fit in the connector, let alone two pieces of it. Should I go with smaller wire or what do you guys suggest? I'm not new to wiring and automotive work, just new to audio.
