2012dozer

I'm going to start off by saying this is my first audio build and have a question on wiring the 2 subs. I know how to wire them to be at 1 ohm but what's the best way to wire them? The reason I ask is I'm not seeing how two wires are going to fit into the connector on the sub. I originally bought 8 gauge wire based on what a friend told me to get but it looks like it's barely going to fit in the connector, let alone two pieces of it. Should I go with smaller wire or what do you guys suggest? I'm not new to wiring and automotive work, just new to audio.
