Warhorse? More power than aq20, cheaper than 2 3500's. And AMI, I wouldn't bs so quick to judge. You can't really say for a fact you know that the AQ is more powerful when have not had your hands on a dc 3.5k.
So your theory is that a 3.5 k board is going to defy the laws of electronics and make more power then a 4.2 k board? Please enlighten me.
If I would of said this people would get pissy.
Even though I did say something similar.
Well difference between me and others is I have ALOT of electrical experience.
I meant you came across as kind of a dick.

Ford302Redneck, the hurter of feelings.
Most of the time the shit I say isn't even that bad. It just isn't what everybody else says.
I like the Warhorse idea though. For 1200 dollar, you can't find 10k RMS. Plus the fact its supposedly 90% efficient.
I wonder where they measured the efficiency at? 4ohms and 100hz? Or whatever most amps are measured at.

I meant, to need 10, the spiders must be soft.
But 10 together should be very damn stiff.
-
I agree Steve, being inside of your vehicle is important. Who say your subs are on the point of blowing, as if they are cooking and smelling right and you have no idea. Yet if you was inside you would of noticed the warning signs and possible saved the equipment.
I much rather save my equipment and my money instead of standing on the outside.
-
The HDC3 come with 8 spiders so 10 mmmeeehhh lol
They must be super soft. Lol.
I know 5 spiders is pretty common on SPLish type subs. But 10? Seems like a lot.
-
One of our USACI competitors (Josh) did some testing with his AQ20K. He has 2 HDC310 Alum coils(10 spiders) on the amp. He is in Streetbeat 1. Results:161.3 Voltage=10.8 Clamped power=12,698 watts Final impedance with box rise=.9ohm
10 spiders? Holy Batman!

Hdorre, Oh. Right on then. Lol.
I'm not 100% how a maxxlink works, as I've never messed with one. But I know its not the same as a 3sixty, or close for that matter.
-
Come on man i know you know the answer to this... haha.... Maxx Link or something similar.
Im almost positive I know the answer after thinking about it for a few mins lol. If I were to buy a sound processor, I'd get a 3Sixty
I didn't mean for the OP to actually buy 3. Just meant for the price, you can get 3 3.5ks.
Oh, my bad lol. That didn't seem like something you'd say, so I was a bit confused about that too haha
I would figure by now people know I don't bullshit, but to each their own. LOL
Wtf..your the BIGGEST liar on SMD. Your nickname should be JP SR because you're more fake than Santa Clause!!
Lol, jk. Keep doing what you're doing bahaha
A maxxlink isn't a sound processor.
And why didn't my post sound like me? Because I'm not "bashing".
I make useful more than bashing ones, just nobody points them out.
-
But for the money you can buy 3 3.5s. Which is more power I assume.
But how would you wire that? I guess you could wire 2 subs to 1 amp, and give each additional sub its own amp..but that wouldn't be the preferred way if the subs are sharing an enclosure.

The aq3500d.1 does more power then the dc 3500 so I would expect the dc amp to be cheaper. And James we clamped 9k at 1.4 ohms on the pair at 10.5 volts lol
Do you have any relation with Ami Creations? Anyways how do you know the aq3500.1 does more than the DC 3500 just want to know? I'd also go with 2 3500s instead.
Because the AQ board is designed/built to produce more power. Also the reason for the price difference.
Nothing against the DC.
Just that's the board DC picked vs the one AQ picked.
I would think the older AQ 3500 is comparable to the DC 3.5 I would assume.
-
If you wan tot consider the DC amps shoot me a PM and ill get you hooked up. I can beat AQs price on the 3500 with the DC 3.5k.
I hope you can.
4200watt vs 3500watt.
Two DC 3.5s won't keep up with 1 AQ20k IMO. But for the money you can buy 3 3.5s. Which is more power I assume.
-
I'd be interested in what Rusty would come out with.
-
Yeah, the 20k is a ~9kw amp.
So double one 3500.
So two 3500 would be cheaper and put out similar power.
But check into DC 9kw, I'm not sure if they have any left, but it will be similar to the 20k, for less money.

universal
I bet you can spot either from a mile away.
You should shoot me a text sometime Nick.
Its been to long.
-
Tempting.
Is it a dual1 or dual 2 or universal?
-
The coils have different thickness, the dual2 is thicker than the dual 1. So when they say the optimize the motor is the dual 1 has a tighter gap than the dual 2 motor.
It basically means they both have the same motor strength when they do it this way.
Instead of having a huge gap for a little coil and less strength.
Fi doesn't do marketing hypes. I don't even know why you would think that.
They try to give you the a sub built exactly how you want it. This does have a few draw backs in trying to buy used and having to perfectly match them.
Do you have the universal option? If not, I would just keep looking, until you find a dual1 motor.

Once you use a table saw, you don't want to use nothing else.

Who cares?
just sounds like another DC hater to add to the list
Its sad that anybody who says one negative thing about DC, you all think they are "haters".
People on this website is a little to touchy about their beloved DC.
Its ok, not everybody is going to like DC, and you shouldn't expect them to.

Se sx xxx mt, were all the same coils.
Just different spider configs.
The dc lv3 is an exact copy of the se.. The recone will fit for sure. Only difference would be what spider config and or tinsels used.
Basket you would need is the 12spoke, only place to get the 12spoke in an 18 is from fi or aa.... Legally.
David at fixmyspkr might have some kickin around
Interesting.
I didn't realize they was all the same.
I don't understand why people upgraded to XXX recone to make a Sexxx. If only the spiders was different.
But I'm sure you would know so I can doubt you.
Also, the old Fi SSD (flatwind) recone will work. I'm not sure about the new ones.
-
Pre 05 RE XXX coil will fit.
Those made SeXXX, and if I was going to upgrade, I'd probably go that route.

My first massive cone area setup is my home theater. With 8 18" subs, I can tell you there can be incredible SQ with large subs and a lot of cone area. . .minimizing excursion can definitely add to the overall SQ.
That's what I was thinking. Its common in HT to have 18s.
-
O geez SQ is NOT and i repeat NOT meant to be loud at all. I would never use an 18" in a SQ setup. I would run maybe two 10"s sealed but thats it. Your mids and high are supposed to blend very "smoothly" which mean bass isn't louder then mids and highs and vice versa.
I'm going to disagree.
Cone area really has nothing to do with SQ to a certain extent.
That's like saying you can only uses 6.5 inch mids.

No worries on my end.
