^couldnt have said it better... always cool down your engine for a few minutes after a drive...
we had a lady come into the dealership..(i work as a tech at subaru) and her turbo had almost seized because she would run it hard and then park and turn it off.. well it would be turned off then it would heatsoak and boil the oil and turn to slidge...needless to say we replaced it..
another situation we had an STI come in which did the same thing but it made a bearing seize or somethin and it ripped the exhaust compressor wheel right off the shaft...pretty sweet looking how it did it but customer wasnt happy..

yes.. as str86 said its normal.. turbos spin in excess of 100,000 RPM.. so they make a sweet whine noise.. also great with a straight exhaust...

for about a year ill prolly only be doing. tires, alignment, oil, cooling you know basic stuff.. then if im still there ill go to specialized subie / hyundai training and go to flat rate

got hired at a dealership Subaru/ Hyundai at a technician. i start tomorrow.. FINALLY some money might be rolling in.. they get my drug test back tomorrow.. should be all good to go

im graduating in 4 days...
i took the automotive course and the high performance course. the automotive was great. you learn ALOT and get to apply that to the shop at school. you dont always start at the bottom. people who dont try usually do because they slack off in school and are absent alot. the only one ive heard thats bad is laramie (spelling) heard alot of bad things about that campus. im at the blairsville PA campus. ive learned ALOT since coming here. but the town of blairsville is kind of boring..but theres ways of keeping occupied. -
well i go to universal technical institute, website is www.uti.edu, anyways, this guy that sits next to me was talking shit all day, literally 5 hours worth of shit, don't wanna go into it, it's besides the point. but i seriously got tired of it, but some shit happened in class, some words were said.. also besides the point. after school in the parking lot, he pushes me into my friends car as i'm walking away from him, yeah he pushed me in the back, i didn't see it coming. i fell off the curb onto my friends 350z pushing his passenger side mirror in. i didn't get a chance to retaliate, because his friends held him back, i also don't want to get kicked out of school, it's 30,000 dollars to attend 13 months of school there, basicly right now anger is talking, and i'm confused, and i seriously appreciate advice given

check the fluid color and smell..thats about it... warm it up drive around check the tranny level and then check color and smell..

do a stall speed test... find what the stall speed of your torque converter is.. then go outside..warm the car up drive around a lil while.. then hold the brakes hard and put the pedal down.. see what the RPM stays at.. dont do it to long though.. this is a serious test that techs perform.. i did it the other day on a friends truck.

i am selling my supra.. and someone is REALLY intrerested in it. so with about 3500-4000 i wanna get a halfway decent car.. i wanted a 2.0 Jetta. lower it an inch or 2 with wheels black it out.. mafia car it..lol.. no rice burner shit.. all stock just wheels and lower.. and system of course. i could easily find a jetta for my price range. it would be a 5-speed cause they have had problems with their automatics..
ANY OTHER CARS I SHOULD CONSIDER THAT WOULD BE IN MY PRICE RANGE????

i have a 1987 toyota supra turbo 5-speed with a targa top im trying to sell. motor has about 112000 miles on it. had a headgasket changed around 1500 miles ago. runs stock 6PSI of boost. never been changed. kind of has ghetto exhaust. has original exhaust if you would want it. comes with another motor that i was going to rebuild. new pistons with it and bearings. the motor is complete but in many pieces. AGAIN. that is the extra motor. has toyota TEMS system for suspension. come with 16inch wheels. on almost new tires. pictures will tell a better description. im asking 5500$ for everything. Im trying to buy a jetta TDI or 1.8T...
few things wrong:
Interior: only thing wrong are the shifter knob is a little worn. and the cup holder door is almost broken off. The interior is GREATR for the age of this car.
Exterior: a few rust spots. nothing thats not to be excepted of a car of this age. and a few chips in the paint.
Engine: the engine runs strong. i have dyno sheets proving a 223 HP and 243 TQ at 6PSI.

a loose ground can also do really weird things to cars...check your battery and all other grounds.
