a loose ground can also do really weird things to cars...check your battery and all other grounds.

^couldnt have said it better... always cool down your engine for a few minutes after a drive... we had a lady come into the dealership..(i work as a tech at subaru) and her turbo had almost seized because she would run it hard and then park and turn it off.. well it would be turned off then it would heatsoak and boil the oil and turn to slidge...needless to say we replaced it.. another situation we had an STI come in which did the same thing but it made a bearing seize or somethin and it ripped the exhaust compressor wheel right off the shaft...pretty sweet looking how it did it but customer wasnt happy..

yes.. as str86 said its normal.. turbos spin in excess of 100,000 RPM.. so they make a sweet whine noise.. also great with a straight exhaust...

yea..plus i get discounts on any auto part from advance auto..like a 50% discount.. so its all good..

for about a year ill prolly only be doing. tires, alignment, oil, cooling you know basic stuff.. then if im still there ill go to specialized subie / hyundai training and go to flat rate

got hired at a dealership Subaru/ Hyundai at a technician. i start tomorrow.. FINALLY some money might be rolling in.. they get my drug test back tomorrow.. should be all good to go

im graduating in 4 days... i took the automotive course and the high performance course. the automotive was great. you learn ALOT and get to apply that to the shop at school. you dont always start at the bottom. people who dont try usually do because they slack off in school and are absent alot. the only one ive heard thats bad is laramie (spelling) heard alot of bad things about that campus. im at the blairsville PA campus. ive learned ALOT since coming here. but the town of blairsville is kind of boring..but theres ways of keeping occupied.

check the fluid color and smell..thats about it... warm it up drive around check the tranny level and then check color and smell..

do a stall speed test... find what the stall speed of your torque converter is.. then go outside..warm the car up drive around a lil while.. then hold the brakes hard and put the pedal down.. see what the RPM stays at.. dont do it to long though.. this is a serious test that techs perform.. i did it the other day on a friends truck.
