how do you like em?? so far these Sundown 8s have been the cleanest ive heard in pro audio...now i havent heard a lot to compare but these have been the best to me so far...i would like to see a Trippi status amount of these in a vehicle haha

I Bet they sound great. I run 8 inch comps also. You need lots of damping.

How do you have them crossed over? A processor or just a LPF?
i have them crossed over on the HU at 80 htz on the LPF and the amp is set to all pass

Hey Rusty is there any benefit of the Carbon Kevlars over the Carbon Fibers? same purpose? difference? strength?
ive herd carbon kevlar is stronger then carbon alone depending on the weave. but really you should be able to fold the paper cone before you "break" even the standard abs boob dustcap, so the extra strength is insignificant
the plastic ABS cone has the ability to flex a little. that could resonate through the cone causing a loss in DBs. the CF and CK will not flex at all...for a PURE SPL set up it may be the difference in a couple 10ths. plus the larger cap will support more of the cone.

The Carbon Kevlar caps are large enough to go right over the standard DC caps. No need to remove it.

no crossover to them but an 80 htz crossover on the HU. JUST put in AQ tweets today...they sound GREAT
Madisound grills? They do fit perfect right there too lol.
JL Audio 8 inch Grills. one of the guys at my shop had them left over..sold them to me for 10 bucks

put em in the door panel w a LOT of deadener...they sound SOOO fuckin great...some of the best midbass ive EVER had in any of my vehicles...gonna do the back doors next. Just wanna say a BIG thanks to Jacob for the hook up and Sundown FTW!!! currently powered off of a Pioneer PRSD4200D and they actually sound GREAT. just threw in some AQ super tweets and they blend very well. cant wait to get my recones done, throw my box back in, put the rears in, possibly another set of AQ Tweets for the back and give some HELLA DEMOS....i will say rock sounds SOOO amazing in my truck now

great tests Cody...i will say this i played a single SMD at a comp the other day and was able to pull out ~7800 watts (i dont know exact numbers) at 3 ohm rise w the amp wired at .75 bridged on MUSIC!!!! thats a SHIT son of power even at 3 ohm of rise
