either will work, id go with the 2k IMO, odds are woofers have a better chance of seeing their rated power + maybe a little more after voltage drop and rise compared to the 2k

the xl is a good sounding woofer but by no means an SQ woofer
WOW really...considering a lot of people refer to the XL as DCs SQ woofer.
to OP...with the right box and proper power you can make it sound nice, tight, snappy and accurate.

when i FIRST hooked up my XL 15s to my 5k i got some smell but they were FRESH out of the box and i think it was just some excess glue and resistance from the brand new spiders...now i rail on them and they dont even get warm...havent had smell since.

im gonna say this...i just reconed my 2 Neos w the AR cones w the wide roll surrounds and im AMAZED by the SQ of these subs now. i have them wired to .5 per channel and it SLAMS and there barely moving. The SQ of them compare to when i had the SMDs in but are a LOT louder. im still breaking them in and the lows are working there way back nicely. i HIGHLY recommend these cones if your going for SQ but you are still able to slam on them for the SPL.
last night my boy Josh was sitting outside of the window around 7-8 inches and i had it about half way up...not even really getting on it and it was blowing his hair a bit w both front windows open. im not 100% sure what Rusty and the crew did but they are some AMAZING cones.
the best part is ive yet to wire them down to .25 bridged

nah nah nah nah naaaah naaaahi thought about that a LONG time ago..even when i had the 5ks...but didnt want to deface them in case i ever wanted to sell them ya know.
the writing is engraved right? pretty sure i have paint here that should go on and look pretty good, then if you want to sell you should be able to scrape it off easily enough without defacing the amp. i can practice on some metal around here and let you know how it goes
