haha amen to that im always have to drive chicks around that are like obsessed with it cuz my while headliner is that way lol. the JL truck is Sundown One's. it was one of those accomodation things lol they prolly dont have as much as everyoine thinks in it. Ther is a couple things about it that could have bene doen different. the ports are acually firing into the roof with about 3 inches of clearnce. so im surehteres some standing wave issuses goin on. and also they only have 1 stinger battery on those 7 amps lol. hes got 3 kinetik 3800's sittin in the shop but they dont have time to put them in. im sure it could b louder haha and im notsure yet i want to do a stetsom 7k2d. Tommys tryin to talk me into them soundigitals but idk -

PS, tommy's incriminator van will do a 159 burp with his good amps. him and aaron wer over ther tryin to get his DB amps to run at .25 ohm and it shut them down. which gave him the 149. ahha -

hey just lettin everone know that there will be a car audio show/ competition at Sundown One audio and video here in Springfield IL on Saturday september 5th. (laborday weekend). It is my competitor as well as the shop i work fors competitor so of course 20-25 of my installs will be there as well as a ton of other people. there last show had a big turn out so this one should be the same. i will be competing in this with my yukon in cone area class 5. as far as i know it will all be cone area based. the last one they had didnt even have classes and it was bs but there was really only 3 cars there that made it over 140db on term lol. it also is just an audio show so u dont HAVE to compete. so if you just have a nice little system u just wanna show feel free to do so. if anyone wants anymore info feel free to PM me about it and i hope to see some of you there!

I finally talked my best friend into a false floor in his 2006 Subaru. I had to work with all of the equipment that he already had, 2 Power acoustic FUBR 10's, which acually are really well built and can take a beating, a sony xplod amp, that has been through atleast 7 of our cars over the years, and some bulk wiring i had laying around. he also wanted the JVC EXAD double din that fit perfectly in the dash and looked great. becasue of the wear and tear on the amp i decided it would be better to take off the cover and just expose the guts and use som eplexi over it. here are the pics.. and sorry ahead of time there is sort of a gap in the install pics where i didnt have a camera. becasue of the odd shape of the well and the space i needed, instead of fiberglassing i made the bottom piece and cut 4" peices of mdf and glued and clamped them together in a circular shape kinda liek they make bongo drums. after that dried i stregthed it all up with reinforced filler. next came the big headache. becasue of the way the tire well was built in the car, the subs would not fit in the middle of the floor and becasue to have the port the way i wanted. so i had to stagger them, and the way my friend is he kinda likes stuff crooked anyway so we decided to do the same with the amp. i ended up with about 2 cubic feet of volume. it was on the small side especially after the 4" areo went in. i used a 4" elbow in order to get port length. the top piece is 1/2" mdf. the cutout areas will have plexi under it that will have the back painted pewter just liek the 2 tone color of the car. then i will put green leds firing into the plexi to make it all glow. the subs had been sitting around for awhile and the surround was discolored and it looked liek garbage lol. so i took some SEM vinyl paint and made her brand new. i also had ALOT of problems surprisingly with bracing. those 10's do some justice and i had alot of flex. 4 2x4's did the trick lol.

it sounds alright. im not really a big JL fan tho. he had them in the small sealed box and the amps werent gain matched at all so they have been abused to some extent. i noticed a slight knock at high volumes intermittently out of the left one so i could see him getting new woofers in the future lol

alrite i finished her about a week ago and here are the pics. i made room for a kinetik hc800 battery in there that will be added later down the road. you will see where it wil go (blank black window) there will also be blue led lighting arounf the sub triangle (which is why the trim panal sits off the box 1/2". i jsut have to find some 12v rope lighting lol lol and i know my pics suck i need to get a new camera!

so here is another car i have been slaving over at night after work lol. The kid bought this car out of state at a REPO auction with all of this equipment in it for a HELL of a price. the equipment alone was worth it lol. But it was a half-done hack job. the MDF rings they used for spacers were leaking air so bad all you could hear was air noise. the chambers were a cube apiece which is no where near enough for the w6's. All of the wiring is top-of-the-line Monster Cable. i would hate to know how much he paid for that stuff lol. it also had a 2nd 4ch momo amp that i couldnt figure out what it was for... i searched and searched and nothing. come to find out hes got aura ass shakers in the seats lol. but anyway i had to make it look fancy and match the car. so here it is. P.S. il post pics up of the original later. amp rack the cover board will be black vinyl. the box will have brushed aluminum laminate. the coverboard will also be standing off the box 1/2" for some ropelighting. amps mounted up temporaily the aluminum still has the film on it. i also made some carbon fiber rings to go around the subs and aero as well. it also has the film on it so it looks a lil wierd. more pics later!
