  1. i live in chatham which is right outside of springfield. i work at Benchmark autosound in springfield monday-saturday 9-6. if your in the area let me know first and i will figure out a time. None of my work is connected with the shop at all. its on the DL LOL
  2. the amp box. nice wiring job lol. another view of the wiring, i made a plaque of my logo by getting a reverse decal made, and using that to paint it onto the back of some 1/4" plexi. then i frosted the logo so that the LEDS wouldnt be visable and it would jsut give it more of a glow. then i buffed it all out. finished product. it gets alot of looks and it sounds great to. i wish i had a better camera to take a night picture of the LEDS though.
  3. One of my friends came to me and said a kid he knew had his system done in his camaro by a local shop and that they had done a crappy job and everything was falling apart. when i first saw it i noticed that they didnt even build down into the well in the back and jsu thad a flat box layin on top. it was such a wast of space and the memphis subs that were in it sounded horrible in a sealed box. the look of the box wasnt to bad with the blue plexi but just the way it was put together was poor. i have had alot of competition in the past with the shop that did it so being that the kid came to me to redo it, i wanted to overdo it haha... here it it... original system. (later replaced euipment with memphis) this was the base of the box. box structure built.. i acually ended up with 3 cubic ft before displacment. i built up 3/4" around the edge and rabbited out the edge to stable fleece to. the top is a 3/4" base with a 1/2" recess. fleece. glassed. sanded and fillled. the black area is a platform that will have a backlit logo on it. the smaller hole is for the 4" areoport. covered in some blue vinyl. finally got my hands on the well needed Formica 155red glue. i could stick myself to the ceiling with that hahah,.
  4. noo everything was off. its charging 4 kinetik 1800's right now but they were all resting at 13 volts. i have the mla dual volt mod and it was runnin at 15.3. it was hott enough that u couldnt do anythinig but tap it or it would burn. it jsut seems wierd to me that it would heat up that fast. my hood was open also
  5. i jsut installed a new MECHMAN 250 amp alt and ran it for about 30 seconds and it got REALLY hot. is this normal? Every connection is right how it should be....
  6. j/c how much do you think a dual alt bracket would be, i know they would have to custom make it...
  7. that picture is sexxx lol. i want the dc 270 reall bad but if im gonna get multiple alts im gonan have to cut back the price of the alts themselves a little bit which kina rules the 270 out.
  8. funny you say that haha i was literally just looking at that one. it seems liek a good price. how long did it take you to get it from when you ordered it?
  9. thanks guys, can dc custom make dual alt kits? i know mechman can..
  10. Well its been awhile since ive been on here ive been super busy with work but i have since got my yukon up and running minus the new charging system. I REALLY need a new alternator(s)! im runnin an MLA dual volt module and my old 190amp overwound alt just arent charging my 4 kinetik 1800's at all. i keep it on a charger but that really defeats the purpose of the MLA. my sub amps (2 MA hk802sx) pull a ton of juice and it gets so bad at some point that my voltage drops to... well lets just say you could run a smoke alarm of fof it lol, and i cant even turn it up anymore becasue this always happens. so i need a new alternator(asap) i was going to order the 300a Iraggi dominator alternator but last nite i was reading some people sayin that they dont produce what they say they do. despite this i still trust iraggi considering a shit load of ppl on here use them. but ive also been looking at stinger to because the shop i work at is a stinger dealer. i need this alternator as soon as i can and i want one that i can eventually when i save up more money get another one and run duals (becasue god knows i need to jiuce lol) i was wondering what you guys think would be the quickest and biggest solution to my problem would be. id rather get advice from poeple the run the product rather than just what i think would be the best. thanks...
  11. yeah its secure thats how i usually do them. i didnt feel that it needed bracing becasue of the port length and baffle thickness, ive built similar boxes and had no flex. the box is finished on my end of the build and bali can finish however he likes. I offered carpet for extra $ but you know everyone is strapped for cash nowadays. The box dimensions he gave me im assuming that the port will be firing towards the trunk opening, but if not it will definatly work side firing, in the past ive acually seemed to gain some on side firing ports.
  12. This build log is for a member on here, BALI, who i am building this box for. It is for a Fi BL 15, 3.83ft3 after displacment. 34 hz.
  13. alrite so i built a box for a customer for 4 sundown e8's and the seller i was getting the woofers from backed out, as well as the 2nd seller i found them from. i am in HUGE need of 4 of these. if not somthing very similar that i can wire 4 of them to 1 ohm. thanks
  14. lol i dont understand what "problems" im on my way to... and i do have a vehicle of my own on here its a yukon search it lol.
  15. alrite most have you have probably seen the thread i posted on the chair that fiberglassed speakers and a woofer indo and sueded it out ---the Rumble Seat-- if not il post a few pics. but anyway it came time for me to make the 2nd part of the build, the ottoman that would contain the amp and head unit. i would have to construct this from scratch unlike the chair, so that would pose some problems getting everything to match. so here it is.... p.s.- didnt take alot of build pics sorry! here is the lid construction the lid is seated so that it will stay in place. an old school eclipse amp does the trick for the re10. just like the chair, it was finished off with matching gray, black and red suede. the legs were made out of maple. the deck mounts on the plexiglass and the back of the plexi aroudn the deck and a strip at the top were painted flat back on the back to blockout the bare mdf spots. here is a video of it in action. sorry for the poor lighting and background noise my parents were downstairs hardcore watchin tv lol
  16. but that 1050 compared to 1050 that u get from a shop around here is way different ahah
  17. damn all these ram quadcabs all of the sudden! looks good..props on the glassin!
  18. haha im the only one around here that deals with FI at all. no one in spfld heard of it till a year ago when i got some ssd's . ive been tryin to do all my installs with FI to spread the word but alot of ppl just come to me with the stuff they already have. .......and nah i had to keep the budget and the high amp would have put me over still sounds good with MB QUART speakers tho
  19. here it is done. it sounds amazing from the cabin. i ran into some issues with the grille cloth making some noise on the lower frequencies but they are not audible from inside the car at all. i was very happy wiith the sound of it, im sure it coul dbe a lil louder if i just built a big ass box in the trunk, but that wasnt the plan here happy birthday lol
  20. A guy i met a car show last year kept in contact with me and got ahold of me about putting a system in his sons car who would soon turn 16 and he wanted it to be his birthday present. he presented me with his budget and wanted sub amp speakers deck the whole deal. he did not want to take up the whole trunk.. and i knew from experience that mustangs have shit for a trunk opening. since the kid goes to a school that has alot of my competitors business and not alot of mine, i didnt want to jsut throw a plain box in the trunk, and also he would be shoing it with his dads cars. so i got to work. PS. didnt take alot of build pics sorry! i first built the box. if i remeber correctly it was around 2 cubic ft. tuned at 35hz. 45d corners as always. i primed and sealed it becasue i would later be painting it wil gloss paint. the way the box would be constructed i made it to where the woofer would mount from inside the box, this would make it a lesser chance of any sccrews breaking and civing more clearance under the box. the top would then be sealed with foam strip and screwed on . then i would have to attach the feet of the box which are 2x4's doubled up. i used my router and some jigs to create the front trim panal and smoothed all of the edgges with a roundover. ( only 1 port opening will be functional. the other is for cosmetic purposes.) Fi Q 12" d2 DB Drive 1600.1 and KNU wiring. i covered the front trim panal in grey trunkliner that matched the stock trunk and grille cloth on the back of the port openings. since the box is downfiring i did not have to make bass tranfer aperatures in the trim panal. i i used 1/2 plexi on the front of the box and screwed and sealed it. no flex at all. then topped it off with LEDS that are wired into the lid switch.
