  1. I have used both of them extensively and I think that the newer ones have excellent cooling on them. All of the heat goes to the outside of the amp because that is the way that they are designed. However, I think the 2004-06 power series look better.
  2. JL Audio's 1000.1 also has adjustments for the type of voltage that will be received from the headunit.
  3. I also swear by the Audiocontrol 3.1 and it controls mids, highs and bass very well. It has a line driver, 90 hz crossover for mids and highs, parametric eq for bass. It is also very solidly built.
  4. The Crossfire VR 1000D and XP 1000D both have input sensitivity switches which makes them easily useable at 6 volts.
