The bc5500's are $900 shipped
-
Do you have any other amp you can hook up in the car to eliminate the amp as the problem?
-
the ignition wire.. but that doesnt matter bc even if i make a jumper and use the + on the amp for my remote it still goes into protect!
Damn I was thinking it had something to to do with your remote. I can't think of any thing else that would cause your problem. I hope you figure it out good luck
-
What did you use for the amps remote turn on?
-
You'd be able to hide the cut with the seat bracket. but if you don't want to cut the car up that's totally understandable I've ripped my stang apart and done all kinds of shit to it but I still don't have the heart to take a saws all to it lol
-
With the bracket that holds the fold down seats off and a little cutting you might be able to get that box in
-
I'm pretty sure the opening through the back seats is 13.5 but if you take off the bracket that holds the back seat you gain a couple inches
-
If nobody helps you before my next day off (thursday) I'll dig one of my crossovers out from the wiring mess I have hidden behind a beauty panel in my trunk and test to see how it effects impedance.
-
I hope this helps http://www.termpro.com/articles/xover2.html I built some crossovers using the info in this article. You can find everything you need to build some at www.parts-express.com
Edit: while your a parts express you might want to check out their speaker projects. They list the drivers, the componets you need for the crossovers, and give you a blueprint for the enclosure.

That's probably the cheapest you'll find ofc 1/0 gauge
-
I'd put it on a 2 amp trickle charge for a couple hours to make sure it's topped off.
-
I did say if the amps are fused I don't think it's necessary, but fuses and fuse blocks are cheap, having a couple extra isn't going to hurt anything, and it's always better to be safe than sorry.
Edit: sp

I was told by Iraggi that a fuse between the alt and battery isn't necessary.
you know their alternators have failed 9 out of 10 times right? Throw that information away.
also if the amps are fused I don't think the fuse between the back battery and amps is necessary
The fuses between batteries only protect them from each other or a wire grounding out between them. The fuse between batt and amp protects the battery from the amp if it goes crazy to kill power to the amp. Fuse could pop between batteries but the rear batt is still feeding the amp juice. Same for the other fuses. Anywhere a short could happen before a power source you want a fuse.
Guess I'm the 1 out of ten mines been going strong for 2 years. And if the amp "goes crazy" wouldn't the fuses on the amp blow before the fuse at the back battery?
-
I always charge a new batt to peak it. And yes on fusing. One within 12"s of the front battery + and rear battery +. One between alt and battery + in front I rub closer to the alt. And one between the rear batt and amp.
I agree with charging a new battery and the fuses between the front and back battery is a must but I was told by Iraggi that a fuse between the alt and battery isn't necessary.
Edit: also if the amps are fused I don't think the fuse between the back battery and amps is necessary

Isn't the RE SE the older RE though the good ones? and why not order from that site? anywhere else I can get those? and what do you mean they're trhe same thing why are the DC's more then?
Stay away from that site! They tried to rip me off with a bait & switch on some componets they gave me a refund but I had to pay shipping. I've also heard other story's but thats my personal experience.

Depending on what kind of terminals you have on your box you could just run a wire from both positive on your woofer to the positive terminal on your box and do the same with the negative.
-
Turn off DBFB. How did you set your gain? Sounds like your cooking your voicecoils.
-
I voted for em in round 1, and just put my vote in for round 2. I hope they win!

One of these http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=390-804
Or I think there's a way to find out with a RTA but I don't know enough about the process to explain it
Edit. Disregard that second part I don't think you use a RTA
-
You can do it both ways like that. But once you have multiple amps you need to use a 12volt relay.
I thought it was only when running 3-4+ amps and a processor/line driver a relay was needed.
Op- I'm running my amps like the second picture and haven't had any problems
Edit. the 360.2 is a sound processor
-
Yup. You can get a cheap one at harbor freight for $5. To set your gain with a DMM check the second post in this thread http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/14666-calculating-gain-voltage/page__hl__setting+gain
-
Hmm, I may sound cheap here, but I don't really want to buy one, as im not that "Hardcore"...Yet.
Anyway, Whats a DDM?
I think he meant DMM, digital multimeter

Lol at like 53 seconds in your left eyebrow was jumping. But for 20hz to the dome you took that like a champ
