  1. Passive radiators are used instead of a port for much the same reasons — to tune the small volume and driver for better low frequency performance. Especially in situations in which a port would be inconveniently sized (usually too long for practical box configurations). They are also used to eliminate port turbulence and reduce motion compression caused by high velocity airflow in small ports. The passive radiator usually has some means to adjust its mass also, thereby allowing the user to change the box tuning.

  2. ha yea kinda noticed there uptight i post a random thing about a blanket and instantly there all on me

It's a car audio forum. Yes, we have an Off topic section, but it's not supposed to be abused. Your first post was about blankets and noodles and shit. Immediately you are labeled as a troll. And then freaking out with two more topics bitching about it getting locked is unacceptable. I'm surprised you didn't get banned.

If you had asked something like this originally, you would have gotten responses.

  3. Nice, I was hoping that it wouldn't get too pricey. I found a 600w Pioneer System from JB Hi-Fi for $650 with two 6" splits and 2 9x4" speakers with the 600w amp of course, but There is better out there then pioneer, I know that.

But from what I have heard, aren't you unable to run a custom speaker setup with a stock headunit? Without using that thing from Rockford Fosgate?

You can run after market speakers from your stock head unit. It won't be as loud as they can get, but you can run them directly into the high level output. You will notice a significant difference if you buy good speakers though. No accessories needed. The only thing you'll need is a color scheme for your specific car, or a 9V battery to pop test them.
