  1. Ok thanks for the help. How are the JL slash v2's able to produce the same output at 1.5-4ohm?
  2. I have one JL 12 W7, it has a single 3 ohm voice coil. Is there any way to change or trick the sub into playing at a lower impedance for more power, say at a 1 or 2 ohm load?
  3. I was always under the impression that it was best to ground to the frame in the shortest distance possible? But your saying if I ground the cap and amp to the 2nd battery in the back I may pick up a little? I am not going to run the ground for the 2nd battery all the way to the front battery, as I had a hard enough time running the first wire where I wanted it. I think I may upgrade the ground wires up front and move the rear amp and cap grounds to the 2nd battery and see, as I am getting a little clipping. I have a question though, on only one particular song, a bass comp song with very low notes, the amp will go into protect mode, but I was watching the cap's voltage readout, and it never dropped below 12 something volts. Could this be because of grounds?
  4. No I don't think I'll put anything on the box, it looks pretty good with the tan interior.
  5. Guys, heres a few pics of the build I just finished for my brother in his expedition. Its 1 18" BTL fully loaded with a AudioQue 2200d. I built the box my self, it is 7.9 cu/ft. at 32 hz. I also ran streetwires 0 gauge as well as installed an extra optima battery and cap (cap was left over from previous build, so decided to install it) Like I said, I did the install and built everything myself for him. He is pretty happy with it. Here's some pics and a quick vid, let me know what you think. Thanks, Dan.
  6. Guys, I have been playing around with RE's online ported box calculator and pretty much have it all figured out. . http://www.reaudio.com/speaker_box/LPort_Box_Calc.html I have a question though. The calculator gives inputs for 2 square port lengths. My question is, does the port have to make a 90* turn in the box? I am able to get my desired frequency with only one port board and no turn internally, but I'm not sure if the turn is needed or not. Thanks, Dan.
  7. Do you have a local decal shop? I have been able to take decals and have them copied and up sized before at a local vinyl shop. Nice GSX BTW. I have one too. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/members/pr..._tsi-37955.html -Dan.
  8. Alright I'm pretty set on using those dimensions of 36"w X 20"h X 24"d, and I don't have excel so I can't play around with the calculator. How do I go about figuring out the port size. And do I use a round port(s), or built it vented?
  9. Thats correct the amp is a AQ 2200, and yes, the BTL 18 is fully loaded, and no, we really don't plan on putting more power to it later. Where can I find this amatt's calculator? Thanks, Dan.
  10. Yeah I know that. 48x20x36 is 20 cuft. I was doing some messing around came up with 36"w X 20h X 24"d, seems like a good sized box, but that still equals out to 10 cuft. Now after the displacement of the sub, and port(s), whereabouts would that put the cuft of the box?
  11. Alright I have some measurements now. I have 48" wide x 20" tall x 36" deep. I say 20" tall b/c thats just about where the glass starts, and don't want to obstruct the view out of the rear window too much. And I say 36" deep, but I am leaving my self about 8-10" extra space for my extra battery, etc. So there ya go, 48"w X 20"h X 36"d is the available space. Thanks for the help fellas, Dan.
  12. Thanks, I'll get some measurements of the back later tonight. The BTL I assume is this years model, we just ordered it last week, we don't have it yet. But yeah, I'll get those working dimensions for you.
