  1. I was late on this but my whip did the same thing. I had to put an opti spark, plugs, wires and water pump and the beast is back to terrorizing the wicked Chi.
  2. I don't need much more wire, but if no one has none, I'm going to be forced to buy some on line. No biggie.
  3. Well I've been planning out how I'm going to wire up my corolla and after measuring and figuring out where the new 0 gauge wire will be going replacing the 4 gauge wire, I am about 7 feet short of positive wire and about 5 feet short of ground wire. Anybody have some wire laying around that they want to sell? I don't feel like ordering from ebay such small quantities. I'd prefer local but if you got something you want to throw my way in a decent price then I'd appreciate it. thanx in advance, Paco
  4. My experience with the new L7's is that they need more power than last years L7's. To my amazement they can handle power impressively.
  5. Yeah I found out that the dawm amp is clipping. I had my older brother who is a mechomtronics graduate come over and look at everything, he gave me the whole rundown. Basically everything you guys have posted is what he said. He thinks the L7 is too much for the BD1000 and told me to leave those amps for another set up. thanx for your input guys, you saved me from burning my amps and speakers
  6. That sucks. Lucky for me thieves out here are either too broke or lazy to do that. Taking the face plate off my car has kept my windows in tact for about 7 years now. There's nothing worse than waking up in the morning to see your pride and joy vandelized because the face plate attracted some idiot.

    New Amp Arrived

That is the reason why the amp is not connected yet. I am making sure I take care of all the loose ends to make it right this time. I'm doing the big 3 in zero gauge, I have 3 optima batteries, Might upgrade to 3 kinetic batteries. I have yet to hear from mechman about my high output alternator. If I don't hear from him I will look else where for a h.o alt. No short cuts this time.

    New Amp Arrived

Absolutely right Sir. Both subs will be wired at 1ohm so this should be an improvement. I guess my 9 year old amps are babies for the new technology lol
  9. Just got my new hifonics BXi 2608d, All I can say is wow. This amp is huge. NOt only is it massive but heavy too. The ground and positive are 0 gauge openings....Can't wait to see what this amp will do to the L7's :hairtrick:
  10. I would take a pioneer over a jvc all day, my reason for choosing the JVC over other brands is the fact that the face plate is detachable. Im in love with the pioneer double din models, if only they had come with a detachable face.
  11. I've had good experiences with JVC, although I haven't bought any of their products for about 5 or 6 years. I'm digging the positive feedback so far
  12. I want to upgrade my head unit, nothing wrong with my alpine head unit, its just that my corolla has a big a$$ opening and the massive reducing kit just doesn't look right on the car. I've seen the 7 inch double din head units and I'm in love with them. That said, I'm leaning on buying a JVC -AVX 810 just like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/JVC-KW-AVX810-IN-DASH-...A1%7C240%3A1308 I love the fact that its a removable face plate, I'm in Chicago a little too much to risk a $500 radio That said this JVC seems to be the only double din that offers a face off function. Anybody here running this head unit? What are your opinions about the head unit?
  13. just did some online research and If I am correct clipping means that the speaker is underpowered and the amp is struggling to keep pushing it right? Looks like I'll be ordering a hifonics Brutus 2600 watts rms
  14. What does clipping mean? I checked my voltage the lowest it hits is 12.9 If you mean the sub is making a clipping sound, its not making any sounds like its being maxed out. Please fill me in on this.
