  1. So if you don't throw enough power at it, it fails thermally because it's not moving enough to cool the coil down. If you throw too much power at it, the suspension fails. So what is the correct way of running it?? Should it be deemed a burp only sub??

this isnt rocket science. try giving it its RMS rated power. just a suggestion.

but honestly, i dont know where you get your info from but never in my life have i seen or heard (except on a forum ofcourse) a sub failign thermally from under powering.

    this is classic.

Quit trying to act like you are better than everyone, you're not.

The reason it could fail thermally from underpowering is because it will not have enough movement for the cooling to take place.

you just said same thing the other guy said. why? i read it just fine the first time around. you are talking about a myth, a made up concept of thermal damage while under powering.

PS. I am better than everyone, clearly.

  3. If you honestly think the HDC4 can't take 5,000 watts daily then, I guess I'm not going to change that. Because of course I wasn't feeding a pair of 3s almost 3,700 clamped each daily. Played with one HDC4, didn't like it, but it took the T4000 at .5 ohm nominal never clamped the setup so can't say. Have you played with the HDC4? Didn't think so.

Dont mean to spam the DC section with AQ, just figured I'd answer a question.

    who are you responding to?

  4. In Street/Stock class application one of these is a good gain over a pair of 6 inch or a single 8 inch port.

Asking $100 for either pair, plus shipping. Made out of aluminum.

    Here are some pics,

the 10" flares. One of them was trimmed a bit, just the mounting lip, to fit inside the box. these things have huge mounting lips. 10" port is 14" with the lip.

I took off half inch all around on one of them to make it fit into the box.

these are 9" flares. I never got to use them so they are still mint. The red line on the flare is the half inch i was going to cut off to make it fit into a box. Never ended up using the 9" tho.
