  1. L7 is more of a higher tuned subwoofer that gets loud tuned 35hz ect.

The Fi SSD 12 is low FS driver that has massive bottom end in comparison.

Having heard both i'd take a SSD any day of the week, I may be a bit bias as I am just finishing an cool install with 4 x SSD 12's.....

I'm looking for some "massive bottom end"...the SSD is where I'm leaning right now just because off all the GREAT things I hear about Fi...and it's cheaper

  2. im mad bored so i decided to make this. also me and my friend were asking each other car questions back and forth in school today and it was kind of fun. you ask a car question then someone answers it and ask a different car question. i know this is kind of stupid but im sooo bored right now.

ill start off with an easy one.

why is a "hemi" called a hemi. i cant think of an better questions right now that dont deal with very specific cars.

Hemi is short for hemispherical, because the combustion chambers are of hemispherical shape.

What was the engine used in a 1969 Camaro SS?

  3. turn off the fuckin tv then nobody has a gun to your head

He has a point. While I don't usually stay up on the celebrity gossip, I think most of the shit in the news is hilarious. Gets old after a while, but hilarious nonetheless. Show's like VH1's Celebrity Rehab really piss me off though. Taking washed up celebrities and turning them famous again because they're drug addicts. What a concept....I just don't watch it though. I'm sure there's plenty of people that do.

  4. if your amp has that and has a master/slave option then yes. you run 1 set of RCAS into 1 amps input and another set of RCAS from the first amps passthrough/output to the second amps input set the first amp to master and the second to slave

    Perfect, thank you sir.

  5. even if he didnt have the 360 processor he still could have run rcas through the input and pass thru and had it run off of 1 remote bass.

So if I connect the 2 amps together using the line out of one into the line in on the other, then the bass knob plugged into the first amp would control both?

  6. cant you just get the rockford fosgate sixty processor?...steve has that...he has 4 amp for woofas and he only uses bass knob to control all 4 woofas

I know there's solutions like that, but I don't think that's necessary for my setup. I'm trying to save myself some money but have it work properly.

  7. Ok Donsie, ive been reading up and kinda getting a clue of what im talking about and ive been doin some browing too. so i just ordered 2 DVC 2ohm MB Quart 500w rms 12" subs( the ones displayed on my first post) and i read up on ohm loads, and i found this amplifier to match the two subs and its here http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=6357 i looked at this diagram http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/ca/learni..._2-ohm_mono.jpg

so would this matchup work? hit me back bro

Yes sir that would work. That amp runs 1000 watts RMS at 2 ohms, so if you wire them up according to that diagram, each sub will be receiving their full 500 watts.

Also, that saves you some trouble and wiring because you don't have to worry about splitting power and grounds and wiring up 2 amps.

  8. if i buy both subs 4 ohm models, then should i just purchase a 2 channel amp that runs 1x500 at 2ohms? and just run both 4 ohm subs at a 2ohm load with each sub at 500 watts?

No. You can do exactly what you originally wanted to do, but you have to do it with dual 4 ohm subs, not 2 ohm. If the subs were SINGLE voice coil 2 ohms, then it would be a 2 ohm load on the amp. But you have to take into account that there are DUAL 2 ohm voice coils, so wiring them up will either result in a 4 ohm or 1 ohm load, not 2 ohms. Here's some links that might help you out.

  9. Just got the sub page working (shitty college wireless network)...Unfortunately the amps won't be able to see a 2 ohm load using those subs. The subs are dual 2 ohm voice coils. If you plan on wiring each sub up to their own amp, you could wire it in parallel which would bring the load down to 1 ohm on the amp, but your amp isn't 1 ohm stable. You'd have to wire the voice coils in series to the amp, bringing the impedance up to 4 ohms. This means your subs would only see 300 watts rms a piece. If you can find the sub with dual 4 ohm voice coils, then you can wire them in parallel and the amp would be seeing 2 ohms, resulting in your subs seeing the 500 RMS you want them to.

As for the rest of the questions not answered before, can't help with the factory amp. I doubt you'll need a cap or anything, just do the good ol Big III upgrade and you should be good. Add another battery or a cap if you get a lot of dimming when the bass hits.

EDIT: Don't forget to get a fused distribution block for the power wires or you could fry some sh!t =@

  10. The sub page won't load for me, but I got the amp page up. Yes, your amp with run at 500 watts RMS if you wire it down to 2 ohms. If you get two, you will need to buy a distributor to split the power wires into 2. For this setup I'd say get a distribution block that has 1 1/0AWG input with 2 4AWG outputs. Run a small amount of 1/0 from the positive terminal on the battery into the block, and then run the 4 out of the block to each of the amps.

  11. Well i dont know you but most of the current 20k members are young! So if i offend you then it was directed at the older mature 20k members that might be on here

I don't really care, just pissed me off a little when I initially read all the replies. For the record, I'm 19 years old so I'm by no means one of the older members (no offense to my elders  ) but I'm also not one of the immature little 15 year olds that claim they have 2 Visionik 10's that hit 160dB and break windows.

I apologize if I offended anyone by what I did. It was an employee parking garage with no one around, so I had a little fun. I'm usually very respectful with the volume knob, I just didn't realize it was such a big deal this time.

  12. Yes noise ordiance are stricter in HOSPITAL ZONES. Its the only zone that i know of that post no noise while in the zone of the hospital. I didnt insult you just young and dumb. We were all there once but i never played my bass in or near a hospital or at red lights (tho steve does but its not in a hospital zone) lol

    Lesson learned. Thanks.
