How did you set your gains?

I bought some shit from lowes a while back, when i didnt know how to do shit, now I can solder decent. Its not too pretty but i couldnt pull that mofo off, and the wire really seemed to pull it into the lug, and i put a cap on it. Anyway the shit i have is the Oatley 95Tin/5 Antimonio (whatever that is) I just felt like practicing, I havent used it in someones install yet, but i want to. So i guess the ? is does it matter what solder I use or is solder solder? I know meade uses Rosin (sp) core 60/40. So what do you use?

Personally I hate that amp with a passion, sry to say it. But with my experiance, my old Rockford Fosgate P-600-2 was louder than this "1000" watt amp, not bashing the company or anything, I have seen some great installs with crunch, but you need to have good, no great voltage to get the 1k watts out of it. I sold my old one to a friend of mine with a fi ssd, lets just say it doesnt move it too much. I would save up for a little longer and buy the quality, RF Sundown do nicely or audioque.
