Like said above it has to be the bypass module. If the security system detects a start up that is not authorised it will shut it down. The check engine light is most likely a false key code being thrown.

You need to use a bypass module for remote starts. If you run just an alarm you won't need a bypass module because the factory security system will not need to be bypassed to start the vehicle. On some vehicles and bypass modules the bypass can communicate with the vehicle to monitor and control multiple options creating a faster install.

As for the door locks some lock systems requir different outputs which is why they sometimes need to run extra relays.

PAC IS76 plugs into the iPad then put a LC-1 before the amp. The LC-1 is a "bass knob" that is inline of the RCA adjusting the output to the amp. It's really simple to set up. I ran 2 LC-1s. One for volume and one for the sub output.

I used the PAC IS76 pro for my iPad install. It gives you 5v RCA output just use a LC-1 for volume control. Use y splitters to send signal to a 4 channel amp for the speakers and the a amp for the sub.

That is how alarms work. Basically alarms tap into factory wires to monitor, manipulate, or use.

It is nessasary to sand it down to bare metal. Perferably grind it down. It will not stick well to paint. If you want something that will use a polyester putty but even that needs sanded and it is not recommended to use thick layers.

Nice upgrade but I would recommend getting some projectors for it... They are going to give you a clean cut off line while driving so you don't blind others on the road and also it will make the front end stand out more.

A majority of the time you wont need to use a relay on the door locks. A good place to look for the information would be the12volt.com. They have a bunch of people with access to wiring diagrams from manufacturers that will also inform you if you need to use a relay to power certain options.

Relays can be used Many different ways. It's hard to say what that certain relay was used for without knowing what wires go where...

On the back of the alarm it looks like it lists the wire colors and what they do for each harness. But like I said it is difficult to read it due to the pictures you provided. If it is the wire chart then that is really all the information you will "need" on the alarms side of the install.

Just look for one with a starter kill. You could easily add one using a relay if the the alarm does not have one built in.

It most likely had a started kill built into the alarm. The way it works is you cut the wire in half connecting one of the wires to the key side of the wire and then it works with a relay to complete the circuit on the starter side of the wire.

The relay could be used for a starter kill. The pictures you have posted are very hard to see so it's hard to say what the alarm might use/need it for.
