  1. just wondering if anyone would the size of xs batt that will fit in my 2002 pt 2.4L ?

I don't know anything about XS but, it depends on what you have done under the hood and what lengths you are willing to go to as to what you can make fit. Do you still have the factory airbox? If not, you can fit a larger battery in there. I have a 34/78 Optima in mine with a billet tray over it. I have seen cruisers with two batteries under the hood.

  2. I am planning on redoing my door panels. The car is a 4 door. The front doors will involve fiberglass and filler so, that isn't my problem. The rear doors have an insert that will be replaced with a piece of MDF painted to match the front panels. Do I need to do a coat of filler to keep the wood from absorbing paint or can I just do a couple of coats of primer?

  3. In my experience with this, it's not a good idea to take sandpaper to your soldering iron tip, but I promise I won't lose any sleep over it if you guys do.

My mom is the one who started teaching me to solder. She used to work for a company putting circuit boards together. I still use her old iron. It has two trays on the side one holds a small amount of flux the other a small piece of emory cloth (sandpaper).

  4. I took my car back to the shop to have them check the alignment. They immediately checked the bearing and it was bad. Had to replace the bearing and the hub because the bad bearing had worn into the hub. The problem with this is I do not drive this car much and if the bearing was so bad that I needed a new hub, why didn't they notice the bearing was bad 2 months earlier when I bought the new tires and had it aligned?

They were still blaming it on the air ride. They said they would show me how bad out it would be at different heights and give me a print out. I told the tech the highest pressure I could stand to drive it was 75psi and the lowest I could physically drive it was 50psi. When I returned to pick the car up I asked what he found out at different heights. He said at about 100 psi the toe was out of spec but anything between 50-75psi was still in spec. So. that kinda blew their theory of the air ride causing the tire wear right out the window. I now have a vibration sometimes at around 60-70 mph. I am going to rotate tires to see if they are the culprit of the vibration.

  5. thanks for the replies, but i would like to get something "name brand" not jensen, valor or brands along that line. i was thinking more like Alpine, Eclipse, Pioneer, Clarion...... i have looked at some but im not real sure whats good.

I know it's not Eclipse or Alpine quality but if you are looking for all those things you may want to take a look at Jensen. I have the vm-9512 and love it. I think it meets all of your requirements except being able to change backgrounds. Here it is..... http://mobile.jensen.com/jensen/JensenProd...UCT_ID=VM9512HD

  6. You must have had it aligned then are driving with it above the ride height that it was set on during the alignment.

I was very careful to drive with it at the pressure it was aligned at. I was hoping to get more life out of this set of tires. I also have new energy suspension poly bushings and new balljoints. Is there anything I need to pay attention to that might affect toe and cause wear like this?

  7. I am having some issues with my car (FWD). I have just changed to the Easystreet struts. I bought new tires and had the front end aligned. I had this done on March 30. I drive the car maybe 3 times a week. So I am sure I have less than 3000 miles on the tires and they are down to the canvas on the outer edge. I have an appointment monday with the alignment shop for them to check it out. They are not familiar with any adjustable suspension and have asked me to find out anything I can out about what can be done to correct this. I hope I have given enough info for you guys to help me.
