Damn hell of a first attempt haha Ive been dicken with it for bout a week and still can't get the 45's in there right. Maybe I'll try another cold one :D
45's werent hard, ill play around and make a mini tutorial with pics to show ya how i did it if ya want.

its all good bro. This program is easy to use for the most part, just gets annoying when it tries to do shit you dont want it to
-
I know how to do it in person with MDF and tools, i dont know how to do it on sketchup
-
So heres where im at, for the record, the box is going to have a double baffle so it will be 24.75" tall. With one baffle it will be 24" and without it will be 23 1/4"
How do I make the top for my port? How do i make cutouts in my baffle? Thats pretty much what i have left to figure out for this box.
EDIT: Port is 22.5" x 9" and 16" long
-
Problem with that setup, not enough room for my 14" cutouts next to the port
-
should i do a tall vertical port back or should i do a horizontal port? I got time, guess ill design one for each, lol
-
Ill try that sub port aggangement. Its for a 2000 Chevy Blazer 4dr. I mow lawns for a living and its pouring so my boss called and said i got the day off, so im gunna hit a few car audio shops and drop off resumes and figured id play with sketchup till then.
So i kinda figured out how to make the baffle, but i cant cut out the holes for the subs, im sure i just gotta do a little lookin and ill figure it out

So this is my first attempt, its going to be for 4 hdc315s. Problem i encountered is that the port is too wide for 4 15s to fit in there, well, idk yet, havent done the top of the box yet. The box is going to be either subs up port up or subs up port back. I havent made the top baffle yet...Not quite sure how to...i tried eariler but it was a bit...off...
202.5 in^2 of port. 13.9 cubes, tuned to 37 Hz. Anyway, any suggestions/comments?

So my computer died, and i just got my replacement a few days ago. Problem is, i lost all my bookmarks. Most of them are things that dont matter. But this one im sad i cant remember the name of. I found it either on an S10 forum of some sort or when searching for vette wheels. But it makes me wanna cry since i cant find it. It was really nice. You could look up a part by the make, model, trimline, different options, different packages depending on the car, it had a national database, it would sort it out for you by quality of the part, location, price, anything. It had a national database that was linked to the inventory list of salvage yards across the country. I found a set of 4 18x9.5" vette wheels (the thin 5 spokes) for 150 a piece, no scratches, perfect condition. UGH...must find site. (has just about every part of every car you can think of, minus the ford courier, lol. BUT...FUCK MY LIFE I MUST FIND THIS AGAIN!!!!
If any of you know or think you know the site im talking about, please lemme know.

I got a 2000 4dr 4x4 im going to drop 3/4 when i get the money. This way i can go low and keep my 4x4. I think my tcase is on the way out so if it goes ill say fuck it, give me a longer driveshaft and ill go 4/5 lol. ya its chicago and 4wd is nice, but i rarely used it last winter, or the winter before, plus to drift in the snow 4wd is for pu$$ies, lol.
-
Ok, i understand that, i was under the impression it kinda gave you a layout of how it would look also, i may have been wrong, but i dont care cuz i didnt spend my money on it. Im gettin SketchUp Pro 7 if everything works right. I know that will allow me to design things, once i figure it out.
-
Can you actually design enclosures in this program? I have put in the T/S Parameters for a woofer, and designed the enclosure, but I was under the impression it gave you a visual of how the enclosure would look. I really dont know what all im doing with it yet, ive only played around with it for a short while.

they had one at this store in WI with a longer barrel on it, looked mean as fuck

The beauty of working on a mowing crew for a landscaping company. Salaried pay, where i work atleast, and you get the day off when its a torrential downpour like today. Might get tomorrow off too if it isnt dry enough, and it supposed to rain friday.

Anyone got some good songs for bassrace/db drag that have basslines around 55Hz? That is the resonant frequency of my vehicle. Thinkin for a comp, might wanna play a song around that frequency.
-
I think my ex gf would have known to include some details, and she knows nothing.
-
lemme know when that starts, ill be tuned into that one. lemme know how you like the daytons when you do it.
-
Ill have to do that
-
those CDTs look yummy.

my question is, at over $80 a sheet for 3/4" birch, is it worth it when compared to 3/4" MDF. No im not the OP but i figured i could ask here instead of starting a new thread. For me, money would be considered. So price vs performance, is the birch worth it?
-
i did a bit of work on a miata once that was getting a 2ch and mcintosh speakers for the doors. Was givin a shop in the area a hand. Its hard for a guy who is 6'5 to work on a car that small, i can tell you that much. I dont know that id fit in an MR2. For shallow subs, if you wanna be a bit different, i have clarion's PXW1251 subs, they make some shallow mounts too and theyre supposed to be pretty good. You should be able to pick them up on the internet for cheap. (i got my PXWs for 72 each.)
-
Isnt 1.5" mdf hella expensive? Then again, idk what birch costs either
-
Im still using my budget subs, lol. Clarion PXW1251 or 1252 subs. They hit pretty well and sound great IMO. They are rated at 500 RMS, well, when i did the install i was a n00b, only hooked up one vc so i ran these things for about 8 months on just one VC each. I was giving that one VC about 500 RMS all day every day, never smelled, never complained, never blew. These things are great. It sucks that i have to admit to n00bing it up, but thats how i found out how great they really are
