did you set your gain like this, if so, what was your target voltage? test tones are at the very bottom...

did you do the big 3 upgrade?
and heres the gain setting info. the test tones are at the very bottom

i use the xovers on my deck

a flat frequency response = better sq. ported boxes peak, thats why theyre louder than sealed boxes. if the peak is BIG, it will get real loud but wont sound very good
id add a 2nd sub and run them sealed if you want to keep the sq you have but want it louder

clipping will only ruin a speaker if its too much power for the speaker
an amp that puts out 100 watts, at full clipping, is LIKE putting out 2x the power (200 watts) but if its hooked up to a 500 watt sub, it wont hurt the sub
and if you understand that, youll understand how a 75 watt amp CAN cook a 100 watt speaker

i bought this scope... http://www.elexp.com/tst_hhs5.htm
works great and super easy to use

cool... thanks.............

and im assuming id use cubic inches for Av and inches for Lv
thanks for helpin my dumbazz

its really not that bad...especially if u are decent at excel...i have a spreadsheet for slot ports that i uploaded, if u have excel it should work, although people with vista cant seem to download it...if u want it, i can try and dig it up...
actually, what does ^ mean... ex. (10^
thats not 10 to the 8th is it, been out of school too long

Fb = .159*((Av(1.84*10^8)/(Vb(Lv+.823*Av^.5))^.5
Fb = tuning frequency
Av = vent area
Vb = net volume in cubic inches
Lv = effective length of vent
effective length = physical length + end correction <---1/2 of the ports width
the complicated thing is the port. the proper way to measure port length with an "L" shaped port is measuring down the dead middle, not of the actual wood you are using, and remembering to add half of the ports width to the actual length. then displacement becomes a bitch to figures sometimes when dealing with "L" ports...well not really, its just a bitch tryin to program it into excel so that it will figure itself out...
hmm, looks like fun, but thanks!

i get 2.77cubes at 25.7hz using my calc...thats without sub displacement though...and i made the port 2" wide so i could work with the number easier.
if you dont mind, what equations do you use. i REALLY REALLY REALLY want to learn how to do it on my own
thanks

trying to figure out what my box is tuned to and how many cubes it is, tried to use the RE box calculator but guess its not very reliable
thanks

fedex weighed mine to be 24lbs with packaging material so id say between 20-22 lbs
cool.. thanks...........
-
couple people over at CA.com are sayin around 23-24 lbs for the SSD
iirc, my HC weighs 41
-
-->
Probably around 15-25lbs but I have a question why does the weight matter?lookin to use a different sub than my 12" HC, suckers heavy
SSD seems to fit my system goals pretty good, which are, peform a lot like the HC (i know it wont be as loud) and doesnt need 1k of power or more
gonna use the HC for HT
-
how much does a 12" Fi SSD weigh
thanks

139.4 legal tl sealed up.
4door trunk car
800rms
tuned to 36hz
2 dd 1508's
very nice.. what size box
-
why dont you use just one amp, wire up the 2 type Rs to get 1 ohm and set your gain right
sell the 2nd amp or whatever
