  1. ive heard this too many times, and i always respond, "its not how it looks, its how it performs"

my polk audio DB401's look better than my MB Quart dkh116's but the MB Quarts outperform them by a long shot.

I can understand the form over function way of thinking sometimes. For example; I'm a fan of the RE XXX because of it's design, but I'm fully aware that many subwoofers will outperform it for less money.

Sometimes people prefer aesthetics where show vehicles are concerned as well...

  2. x2 I have a pair of the 6.5's and they are very LOUD and very CLEAR!

you won't be disappointed with them especially for the price

another plus you don't need to wire up a crossover they are built into the mid just run the tweeter to the mid and one wire out to your amp :good:

I've used the T152S' in the last 4 or 5 installs I've done. Nearly all of my friends are currently running them and not one person has been disappointed. I'd recommend using the crossovers, though...unless you plan to run an active front stage...

  3. nah i dont want no component speakers, jus co axial speakers

Are you aware that the RF components will more than likely out-perform the coaxials that you're planning to buy? I'd also like to point out that the RF T152S components cost nearly $300 at one point.

The link I provided is one of the best car audio deals going today...

  4. watch this vid and see if that changes your mind, especially the end with me rolling down the blvd with itunes :D If it doesnt change your mind then oh well but i think its the sickest shit i have personally done to any of my rides. I am at work and i cant wait to go driving again! My door panels, when they get here and all the speakers that go in them, will be icing on the cake!

It's bad ass, but I'm not crazy about the looks of it...

  5. DC is so sexy =D

    and so is rockford

Yup, I've been drooling over the DC subs for over a year. Glad to finally see one, and I'm definitely looking forward to messing around with it. I liked the RD Audio & Sundown amps too, so when I found out that Rusty had DC amps, I got my friend to jump all over them. He's not into "big" audio like me, so the 15" Level 4 on 1,000 watts was a real stretch for him. He's coming along, though.

This is a HUGE upgrade for the LS' audio system. We originally installed a pair of 12" CVR's, 6x8" Kenwood KFC plates in all 4 doors and Profile amps, and now he's stepping up to the equipment you see in this thread. Like I said, my friend is coming around. It won't shock me if I'm tearing the rear seats out of the LS within the next year or so. The upgrade bug bites us all. :)

  6. Is that a Misfits poster on your wall? Nice gear he's got. I'm looking forward to getting my Lvl 3 in the maill soon so I can see the build quality myself. Hurry up and get a build thread going. Whats this going in?

Yeah, that's a Misfits poster. I was really into the punk scene when I was a teenager. I kept all of my Misfits stuff and plastered the walls of my spare room with it. It's a shame that the band is a joke these days.

The vehicle is a 2006 Lincoln LS, and I have a crappy build thread for it over at ca.com. I started the thread before we really knew what direction we were going with the vehicle, so it's hard to follow. I'll clean it up a little and post it over here too.

  7. The rest of the equipment that's going into the vehicle:

2 pairs of RF T152S components

Used KnuKonceptz wiring for everything, covered the doors & trunk in several layers of Dynamat Xtreme and put down a layer of Luxury Liner Pro under the carpet. All I need to do now is take care of the trunk build and locate a seller that actually has a Kinetik HC2400 in stock . :)

  8. I finally get to play around with some DC equipment and it doesn't cost me a dime. I'm doing a build for a friend of mine, and I talked him into running DC amps & subs. Here are a few pics:

    The PAI-1000.1. Nice'un.

    The PAI-120.4. Also a nice'un.

    That's a Dual 2 ohm Level 4 15", gentlemen. It's purdy and I like it too. :)

Can't wait to finish this project so I can really get a feel for what DC is all about. As of right now I can honestly say that I'm impressed with the build quality. I'm guessing this stuff will sound just as nice as it looks.

  9. I'm interested in hearing what you have to say about the new RF T162S comps, Steve.

I've used the older model T152S' in my last 3 projects. They're cheap as hell on ebay, and they don't sound too bad at all. Other than the PITA flush mount tweeter housings, I have nothing negative to say about them...
