  1. I can understand the form over function way of thinking sometimes. For example; I'm a fan of the RE XXX because of it's design, but I'm fully aware that many subwoofers will outperform it for less money. Sometimes people prefer aesthetics where show vehicles are concerned as well...
  2. I've used the T152S' in the last 4 or 5 installs I've done. Nearly all of my friends are currently running them and not one person has been disappointed. I'd recommend using the crossovers, though...unless you plan to run an active front stage...
  3. Are you aware that the RF components will more than likely out-perform the coaxials that you're planning to buy? I'd also like to point out that the RF T152S components cost nearly $300 at one point. The link I provided is one of the best car audio deals going today...
  4. So I guess you aren't at all interested in a very nice pair of bnib Rockford Fosgate comps for less than $100 shipped? Hmmm...
  5. I've been playing it off & on for nearly a week. I don't like it very much at all...
  6. BNIB Rockford Fosgate T152S for less than $100 shipped: http://cgi.ebay.com/ROCKFORD-FOSGATE-5-25-...=item3358f98812
  7. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching this rebuild unfold, but I really don't care for the screen in the dash. Oh well, I'm sure you didn't do it to please me.
  8. Waste of time, money, effort and perfectly good doors.
  9. I hate Brent Fav-ruh and I can't wait for the monumental collapse of the 2009 Minnesota Vi-queens...
  10. I started a build thread here on the forum. Here's a link for anyone that might want to take a look: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=59249
  11. I've met most of the guys who've been in The Misfits. People like to talk sh*t about Michale, but he's the coolest guy out of the whole group in my opinion.
  12. Yup, I've been drooling over the DC subs for over a year. Glad to finally see one, and I'm definitely looking forward to messing around with it. I liked the RD Audio & Sundown amps too, so when I found out that Rusty had DC amps, I got my friend to jump all over them. He's not into "big" audio like me, so the 15" Level 4 on 1,000 watts was a real stretch for him. He's coming along, though. This is a HUGE upgrade for the LS' audio system. We originally installed a pair of 12" CVR's, 6x8" Kenwood KFC plates in all 4 doors and Profile amps, and now he's stepping up to the equipment you see in this thread. Like I said, my friend is coming around. It won't shock me if I'm tearing the rear seats out of the LS within the next year or so. The upgrade bug bites us all.
  13. Yeah, that's a Misfits poster. I was really into the punk scene when I was a teenager. I kept all of my Misfits stuff and plastered the walls of my spare room with it. It's a shame that the band is a joke these days. The vehicle is a 2006 Lincoln LS, and I have a crappy build thread for it over at ca.com. I started the thread before we really knew what direction we were going with the vehicle, so it's hard to follow. I'll clean it up a little and post it over here too.
  14. The rest of the equipment that's going into the vehicle: Alpine IVA-W505 2 pairs of RF T152S components Used KnuKonceptz wiring for everything, covered the doors & trunk in several layers of Dynamat Xtreme and put down a layer of Luxury Liner Pro under the carpet. All I need to do now is take care of the trunk build and locate a seller that actually has a Kinetik HC2400 in stock .
  15. I would have talked him into DC components as well........................if that were possible.
  16. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just be sure to keep some of those amps in stock. I'm going to need quite a few of them at some point.
  17. I finally get to play around with some DC equipment and it doesn't cost me a dime. I'm doing a build for a friend of mine, and I talked him into running DC amps & subs. Here are a few pics: The PAI-1000.1. Nice'un. The PAI-120.4. Also a nice'un. That's a Dual 2 ohm Level 4 15", gentlemen. It's purdy and I like it too. Can't wait to finish this project so I can really get a feel for what DC is all about. As of right now I can honestly say that I'm impressed with the build quality. I'm guessing this stuff will sound just as nice as it looks.
  18. Nice work, Steve. You always have a knack for busting out the meticulous work. I sometimes wonder if there's footage of any "Horsepower TV" type outtakes where you're cursing like hell over something not going right. It would be cool to see a video package of each project's little mishaps and PITA moments.
  19. I'm interested in hearing what you have to say about the new RF T162S comps, Steve. I've used the older model T152S' in my last 3 projects. They're cheap as hell on ebay, and they don't sound too bad at all. Other than the PITA flush mount tweeter housings, I have nothing negative to say about them...
