I built the same style T-Line in a Tacoma sub up port up and it's really loud, it's got a really good frequency range too!

Honestly 7.5 cubes is too much for that sub. I'd try putting it in around 6 cubes with the 2 6" aeros and I bet that you'll be much happier with the results. Anything over 6 cubes is honestly too big for an 18 Imo.

The DC website says recommended space for a SPL setup is 8 cu. ft.

Is the DC website wrong?

Edit: I built a 8 cu. ft. test box for my lvl 5 18 and it seemed good...

The usual rule for port area is 12 to 16 square inches per cubic foot. What you have now is about 8.5 sq. in. per cube. You might wanna go alittle bigger.
