  1. There is a marketing reason to the more rms rating, or saying the amp is underrate and actually does XXX watts more. Rockford is a major comapany to do this, but their are other major brands that do this.

The company gets a new amp design that they use, the amps build house builds these boards as whatever. Lets use a RF t40001bd. Almost every 40001bd is 4700-5000rms. Rockfords buildhouse could be building this amp as a 4700wrms amp and be selling it to Rockford as a 4700wrms amp. Then rockford does what they want with it and then sell it to you as a 4000wrms amp. You the buyer think your getting a better deal because its more power for less money.

i know that. underrating and all is a marketing ploy. again, it's "pointless" to have it just like max rating. it gives you a general number, but its still just a number.

  2. the RE re 12's arnt considered shallow mount but i just put two in my uncles 03 silverado and they sound really nice, surprised the hell out of me. very good little subs and can be had cheap.

they now have the SL...a shallow mount sub.

i'm looking at using my re8's for a while, and saving up for something like the memphis, pioneers, or RE's.

  3. i dont want to sound like a joykill but your going to be hard-pressed to really succeed and make money online. your going to have to pay someone to build your site, host your site, and update/maintain your site. your going to have to either A) find a big market or B) find a niche that has not, nor will be filled by a big name player in the near future. both are difficult, but doable. your going to have to whore your site out like crazy for people to even think about ordering from you. if its local and slip ups occur......good luck getting your name back. people are vicious.

i dont mean to sound like im sayin your cant do it, but dont expect it to pay bills while your in school. its going to take a while before people start coming to your store without you having to bribe them.

    really though, good luck.
