Thats killer man.......
And mad ass props to the hard core female acting the champ........ although, around 55 seconds in, it looked like she needed a lil air...LOL...(1st vid)
Nice job JOOb...... much respect for getting all that into such a crowded space.....(these buttholes and thier BURBANs, quad, king cabs and such...... pfffft) ....
RIGHT!? Its more fun to have this kind of system in a tiny tiny car
You and your sister seem pretty close, nice to see that she takes an interest in audio, even coming with you to SBN..
Why did you go for the diamond port shape instead of the regular center port? Space issue?
We're twins, so we've always enjoyed doing the same things and it was actually HER idea to go to SBN first. kinda blew me away when she started bugging me about it. The diamond came about because of space issues. I wanted the port to be as large as possible without causing the baffle to lose rigidity, so this just ended up being the perfect shape for the setup. Still managed to get 144sq inches on a baffle that is only 45"x 31"
nice how low r u tuned
On paper.... im tuned to 33-34. There is no way to know 100% though since im uncertain of my total gross volume, and i dont know my net volume.
-
should i chime in or would you prefer me to stay out of this, Nick?
-
the shell was built by me 3 years ago, but my good friend BILLS did the current baffle for me. He's my DC rep for my region and he had some ideas on how to squeeze all 4 15s into my tiny car. Credit goes to him for making this what it is

Now that my subs have started breaking in, i decided to try some hair tricks at our show yesterday.
Let me know what you think!
edit***
one more from the show
-
im extremely impressed if that is a home-styled setup.
-
meh.. sounds like the quality of the clear is to blame. you allowed plenty of flash (or you may have thought) but the humidity could have worked against you and kept the coats from drying fully
-
Hmmm. If the clear that you laid is dull and the other side is fine after cutting and buffing, I would suspect something to do with the clear itself. What brand clear did you use? Also, could of been off on the ratio while mixing. Should of gotten a slow activator if you where in a hot climate.
thats my second guess behind him not allowing enough of a dry time between base and clear. chemicals could rise through the base into the clear during curing
-
-
how long did you wait after the base color, before spraying the clear?
-
Anybody in the midwestern US should contact Kurt Bills for pricing on DC items. Im shocked that you guys would over step your boundaries on "pricing" to people out of your region.
Anyways... Kurt has a pair of M2 Level 6s in his civic wagon and its pretty nasty

damn. that shit slams..
thanks!
Whats the name of that song?
Lem beat me to it
Dn that's goin hard nice. Man
thanks!
Sealed?
Looks louder from the old setup from that video.
im technically a full db louder than my old score on the exact same clamped power. i dont know my current peak freq, so i blindly burped something in the area of where my loudest used to be. I have a show this weekend, so maybe ill do a sine sweep and see if it changed at all. OH, and its way louder on the ears... actually pretty painful for "only" doing upper 52s
Whats the name of that song?
Im Boomin Im Bunkin' - oj da juiceman iirc...
But im sure this is the decaf version
And sail-awolnation
But thats Bigpimpimins version too.... Good luck getting these they are top secret stuff now!! haha
^^^this guy
You are very correct on the songs! i've been asked for the sail version by 40 some people in the last 2 days but im not sure if bigpimpin is hosting it anymore
-
Sweet... next time turn on the A/C
I sure wish i had AC
Any numbers yet?
with a week of break in, i did a 152.6 on the dash. It's got a lot left in it if i can keep my rise down
Fuck yeah! About time!
yessir!
walled a civic that i can appreciate
Thanks

well, its time i finally got back into the game of recording and bassin'
here is my new setup. Its louder than my 18s were and its a lot of fun thus far!
(4) level 4 M2 15s on a Crescendo BC5500 at .7ohm
watch in HD for some flex and sub movement

naw, no way. Nebraska only has corn fields and open plains.
-
hello. Im a guy named J00bles and i run DC audio in Nebraska as well. Kurt and I were two of the first fools to touch their product around here. been a nice 3-4 years working with you guys
-
I told you there were 6 of these amps in Nebraska^^ these were the other two that kurt sold off.
Good luck Jon! I will vouch for your gear if anybody is asking!

a wall is a form of subwoofer enclosure that expands from the floor to the ceiling and side to side in the passenger compartment of a vehicle. it can be mounted anywhere behind the front seats. walls (to be a true walls) need to seal the new front cabin space off from the rear cabin space, in order to effectively utilize the reduction in overall cabin volume. Most walls are built to allow the user to fit multiple subs, in a smaller cabin space, to optimize the pressurization that occurs.
**Edit**
opimizing the pressure will allow the vehicle to produce a higher SPL

as someone who walled their car after months of research and planning....i dont think you're ready for it.
dig through as many build logs as you can on here, and get VERY familiar with box designs and box building.
then one day (maybe) you'll be ready to attempt it
-
i ran a pair of DC XLs on a 3500d.1 and loved every bit of it. many many subs will work wonderfully on that amp. just gotta go with whatever you can afford!
-
you'll want probably 10-12 cubes for the box. i think most 21" subs require 8-10.
good luck with the sub! i have seen some people on youtube do some impressive things with them (with the right amount of power)
-
i'm drunk. that is all
-
i never was able to measure my wall 100% but i got a pretty close guesstimate done on it. big boxes are hard to figure, but you can do it with a little bit of free time
